The darts season is now entering its crucial phase! The next tournament on the 2024 darts calendar is the World Grand Prix in Leicester, which has been held annually since 1998.
The Darts World Grand Prix 2024 will take place from Monday (October 7) to Sunday (October 13) at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.
Unlike other tournaments, the major tournament will be played exclusively in evening sessions.

The first round matches will kick off on Monday and Tuesday (October 7 & 8). On Wednesday and Thursday (October 9 & 10), the second round matches will continue.
On Friday, the quarterfinals will take place, while the semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday. The winner of the tournament will be decided in the final on Sunday.
Unlike other tournaments, the game is not played in the classic legs format but with sets. In addition, the double-in-double-out mode is used.
The first round will be played in a “best of 3 sets” format. In the round of 16 and quarter-finals, the whole thing will increase to a best of 5 sets.
In the semi-finals, a game will last a maximum of 9 sets, while the final on Sunday will be played in a “best of 11 sets” format.

The Darts World Grand Prix broadcast will be live on DAZN and on free-to-air TV on Sport1 on all tournament days.

Darts World Grand Prix 2024 Participants: Who is taking part?
The field of participants in the Darts World Grand Prix is 32 players.
These are, on the one hand, the top 16 players in the Order of Merit. The first eight names are directly seeded.
In addition, there are the 16 players who have finished highest in the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit who have not already qualified directly via the Order of Merit.
Darts fans can look forward to the crème de la crème of darts. World Champion Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright will be there, as will superstar Luke Littler.
A total of two players from Germany will be taking part in the World Grand Prix this year. Alongside Martin Schindler – who recently won the Swiss Darts Trophy – Ricardo Pietreczko will also be there.
Gabriel Clemens, on the other hand, was outside the top 16 at the cut-off date of September 30.

The ranks of the top favorites consist of Luke Littler, world champion and last year’s winner Luke Humphries, and Michael van Gerwen – who has already won the event six times in the past.
Outside of this trio, Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith are also in the mix. Both have recently struggled a little, but are always capable of a big performance at major tournaments.
