The group stage of the Davis Cup is coming up for Germany’s national tennis team. The DTB team will play against the USA, Slovakia and Chile for a place in the final tournament.

The 2024 Davis Cup group stage will take place from September 10 to 15.
A total of 16 nations are taking part, divided into four groups (A to D) at four different venues. The conditions are the same for all teams at all four venues: the surface is hard court and the matches are played indoors.
The 16 nations in the 2024 Davis Cup group stage are:
- The two finalists of the Davis Cup 2023 Finals (Australia and Italy),
- two wild card teams (Great Britain and Spain) and
- 12 winners from the qualifying round in February this year.

- Group A: Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil
- Group B: Australia, Spain, Czech Republic, France

The matches in Group A will take place in Bologna (Italy), Group B will be played in Valencia (Spain). The 2024 Germany Davis Cup group stage will take place in Zhuhai in China and the Group D matches will be played in Manchester (England)

The Germany matches in the 2024 Davis Cup group stage start on September 10. One match will be played every day until September 15.
The DTB team’s first opponent is Slovakia on the first day (10.9, 8:00 a.m. German time).
Match 2 in the Germany Davis Cup Group Stage 2024 will be against Chile on September 13 (5:00 a.m. CEST) and the third match will be played against the USA team on September 15 (8:00 a.m. German time).

Which teams will be in the 2024 Germany Davis Cup group stage
Germany will face the USA, Slovakia and Chile in this year’s Davis Cup group stage.
The German team consists of Maximilian Marterer, Yannick Hanfmann and doubles specialists Tim Puetz and Kevin Krawietz. In addition to Jan-Lennard Struff and Dominik Koepfer, who are both dealing with injuries, Alexander Zverev will also be missing
Since Daniel Altmaier is currently completely out of form and has therefore not been nominated, the German team will compete in the Davis Cup 2024 group stage without its four highest-ranked players in the world rankings.
However, the USA will also not be entering the 2024 Davis Cup group stage with its nominally best team: Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe – both in the US Open semi-finals – will be missing, as will Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul.
