NHL Croatia, Matchday 36, Sunday, 05/25/2025, 5:00 p.m.
Three teams, one title – it’s going to be close! The championship final is coming up in Croatia, and Dinamo Zagreb is going into the race in the best position. But: It is quite possible that the current leader will still need a big win.
In my Dinamo Zagreb Varazdin tip, I will of course be getting out my calculators and keeping an eye on the competition. I’ll also tell you why I’m favoring the following tip: The home team will win without conceding a goal!
First of all, it’s important for you to know that in Croatia, if two teams are tied on points, goal difference is the deciding factor before head-to-head results are taken into account. Zagreb is tied with Rijeka at the top, but has a ONE-goal advantage in goal difference.
This is interesting because it means that head-to-head results are irrelevant. Rijeka are playing Slaven Belupo, a team with nothing to play for. Dinamo know that they have to win and score enough goals.
Hajduk Split are the third club in the race, two points behind the leading duo. They face Sibenik at the weekend, who have already been relegated.
The third team in the group naturally has the least chance of winning the title. Zagreb squandered an even better position a few days ago, surprisingly only managing a 1-1 draw against NK Lokomotiva.
It was their eighth draw of the season. What I would like to mention here is that after six of the first seven draws, the team failed to win the following match – so caution is advised.
With only six wins from 18 games, their away form has been extremely mixed. It’s good that the title will now be decided at home, where they have lost only twice in 18 games.
Eight wins and one draw, the latest results are absolutely impressive. They haven’t conceded a goal in their last four home games and have taken the lead at half-time every time.
Tip 1 after the first 45 minutes is definitely worth considering for Sunday, with Winamax offering odds of 1.60 for this bet. In ten of the last eleven games, regardless of the stadium, the team has also kept a clean sheet in the first half.
Varazdin is actually an opponent that suits Zagreb, but their last victories were almost all very narrow. 1-1, 3-2, 1-0, 1-0, 2-1, 1-0, 1-1 – it doesn’t exactly smell like a David vs. Goliath duel.
Nevertheless, you can still get very clear odds from our bookmakers. A win for the favorites is estimated at an average of 1.20, while the visitors are at 10.5.
There is not much at stake for Varazdin; whether they finish sixth or fourth is completely irrelevant in terms of international competition, which will take place without the team.
With one defeat in their last eleven games, things are looking pretty good, but at the same time, they have only won four of their last 14 games. Varazdin loves draws, with 16 being the highest number in the league.
If there is one team in Croatia that is responsible for close results, it is this one, because only TWO of 35 games have seen more than one goal difference! More than three goals, which is just as interesting, have only been scored once.
A total of 28 games have ended with less than 2.5 goals. Is this bet worth it on Sunday? You bet! At Winamax, the odds are up to 2.20, even though the tip would have been correct in only three of the visitors’ away games.
Varazdin has only gone into the break trailing three times on the road. So if you bet on double chance X2 after the first half, you’ll get odds of 2.10.
Win, as convincingly as possible, and the championship title should be yours – as long as Rijeka doesn’t win by a bigger margin! Dinamo Zagreb knows the situation – it’s good that they won their last home games convincingly.
Varazdin is by no means an easy place to play, with the visitors known for close results with few goals conceded. Interestingly, with 32 goals conceded, their defense is significantly better than that of the league leaders (41).
Nevertheless, I believe that Dinamo will keep their nerves in check on Sunday. However, as I don’t expect any spectacular performances from Varazdin, my tip for you is:
The hosts will win with under 3.5 goals!
