Dom. Republic – Spain Betting Tip, Prediction & Odds Olympia 27.07.2024

Men’s Olympic Football Tournament, 2nd round, Saturday, 27.07.2024 at 15:00

No country is currently enjoying greater success at national team level than Spain. The Olympic team can be found on the list of tournament favorites and could win the third title in a year (Women’s World Champion, Men’s European Champion) for the southern Europeans.

The Dominican Republic made a successful Olympic debut and fought their way to a 0-0 draw with Egypt thanks to their tremendous passion.

A “Spain win” makes no sense due to the low odds. Instead, I play my Dominican Republic Spain bet at Winamax with the bet “Spain will NOT concede a goal” and speculate on odds of 1.74.

During the last Olympic Games, Spain almost pulled off a major coup. The then Furio Roja team lost to Brazil in the final (1:2 n. V.).

Santi Denia will accompany a fantastic team that is one of the tournament favorites simply because of its individual quality as it makes another attempt at the gold medal

On the other hand, the Olympic team of the newly crowned European Championship winners found the first matchday surprisingly difficult. In the match against Uzbekistan, Denia’s charges only just won 2:1.

Nevertheless, it was a victorious start that can be improved on in the second matchday. In any case, Spain are the undisputed odds-on favorites with odds of up to just 1.15. Even with an odds boost, these odds are rather uninteresting

Similar to the first matchday, I don’t expect a game with a walk in the park for the favorite. The Olympic debutants were too passionate on the first matchday for that.

Thanks to a surprising second place at the U20 Concacaf Championships in 2022, the Dominican Republic will take part in the tournament in Paris completely unexpectedly.

The technically limited island footballers from the Caribbean fought their way to a 0-0 draw against Egypt. They threw themselves into every shot and conceded less than one expected goal (0.93 xGA).

Spain did not put in a masterful performance on the first matchday. The expected goals fell into the hands of the Furio Roja by a very narrow margin (1.76:1.66 xG via Wyscout)

Two players in particular will have to lead the way for the title favorites to get off to the perfect start and win two games in a row. Fermin Lopez and Alex Baena. Both were part of the Spanish team that recently crowned themselves European champions.

The most important thing will be how patient the Furia Roja’s Olympic team will be against the Quisqueyans.

I don’t trust Ibai Gomez’s team to score a goal. The Olympic debutants only managed a meagre 0.63 expected goals against Egypt (via Wyscout)

While Spain opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation, Ibai Gomez chose a classic 4-4-2 formation for the underdogs, in which Peter Federico (FC Getafe) played a key role.

The 22-year-old got himself a starting berth at Valencia last season and collected a few minutes in the Spanish La Liga in the second half of the season. Next year, he will line up on the right flank for Getafe.

However, the Spaniards should not have to worry too much. According to transfermarkt.de, Spain’s Olympic team has a squad market value of 370.30 million euros – the Dominican Republic, on the other hand, only just breaks the ten million euro mark (10.53).

If Spain really get going, however, a resounding victory is conceivable, similar to the 7:0 win of the French selection against the Dominican Olympic team in the last test before the tournament in Paris.

The 0.17 xG (via Wyscout) that Ibai Gomez’s team collected against France confirms my Dominican Republic Spain betting tip

In addition, the debutant clearly lacked aim on the first matchday. Only three of the 14 shots he took were on target.

The better Furia Roja can impose their style of play in this game, the less concentration Dominican Republic will have in counter-attacking situations

As expected, Spain are the favorites against the Dominican Republic. However, I expect a game of patience against debutants who are well prepared.

The underdogs won’t be able to create many scoring chances, as the difference in quality between these two teams is too great.

My Dominican Republic-Spain betting tip is therefore: Spain will NOT concede a goal
