Dortmund – Ulsan Tip, AI Prediction & Odds 06/25/2025

BVB – Ulsan Prediction Club World Cup, Group F on Wednesday, 06/25/2025 at 9:00 p.m. (Live on TV)

After a goalless draw in their opening game, spectators got much more for their money in BVB’s second appearance in the current Club World Cup. However, the expected dominance was once again lacking in the 4-3 win over Sundowns from South Africa.

Nevertheless, with a total of four points, the Westphalians are still on course for the round of 16.

My Dortmund Ulsan tip for tonight’s group final is also confident that remaining in the competition is now more than just realistic.

However, it is not least thanks to the South Koreans’ shortcomings that the bookmakers are also siding with the Westphalians without any major reservations.

The two defeats suffered on the first two matchdays mean that Ulsan can start their journey home immediately after the final whistle in Cincinnati.

Despite scoring two consolation goals against Fluminense, the Asian side’s defense has so far proved too weak to achieve greater things.

The significantly low possession rate in the previous games should now put BVB in the role of sole entertainer at the TQL Stadium.

BVB – Ulsan prediction & bets

Although my prediction of a clean sheet victory for BVB against Sundowns was proven wrong after just a few minutes, I believe there are good reasons to give this bet another chance in my Dortmund Ulsan prediction.

This is because, in my opinion, the Koreans’ offensive weakness outweighs the confusion in BVB’s defense. The Westphalians just need to be careful on the counterattack in their last group game.

The Bundesliga side’s expected superiority is also reflected in my other BVB Ulsan tips. For example, I expect Dortmund to score in both halves – with odds of 1.80 at the best sports betting providers.

In anticipation of a small goal fest, I’m also looking at the goal scorer bets and have decided to go for the option that Serhou Guirassy will score at least twice against Ulsan. At 3.15, I think the double is definitely attractively priced!

What you need to bear in mind when betting on Dortmund vs. Ulsan

  • Apart from the goalless draw against Fluminense on the first matchday, Borussia Dortmund have scored at least three goals in each of their last twelve competitive games. Since March 30, 2025, an average of 4.25 goals per game have been scored in these matches.
  • Ulsan has the second-lowest possession percentage (31.0%) after the second matchday. Only AFC rival Urawa Red Diamonds has a lower figure (29.9%).
  • Although Sehrou Guirassy scored against Mamelodi Sundowns, the odds of him finishing the Club World Cup as top scorer are 51.00. Five players who have yet to score in the CWC are still rated lower than the BVB striker.
  • Teams from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have faced European teams 15 times in the history of the competition. Al Hilal’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid on the first matchday was the only time an Asian team has remained unbeaten against a European opponent.
  • Jobe Bellingham scored his first goal since December 21, 2024, when he was still playing for Sunderland, against Mamelodi Sundowns. His last assist came on December 7, 2024.

Dortmund – Ulsan: odds analysis

It comes as no surprise that Borussia Dortmund are clear favorites in the last game of Group D with odds of around 1.20. Not only are BVB the much better team, but they also need a win to qualify for the group stage.

On top of that, Ulsan’s weakness is also contributing to the bookies’ high opinion of BVB in the Westphalia Ulsan prediction, which our in-house artificial intelligence also agrees with in this case.

Since Borussia finally broke their offensive slump, I’m also going with the Dortmund Ulsan AI prediction of a win by at least two goals. The handicap of -1 is quoted at around 1.65 and therefore represents a reasonable risk.

Ulsan HD lost 0-1 to Mamelodi on the first matchday, conceding 1.36 xG. This was followed by a 2-4 defeat (1.67 xGA) against Fluminense. Despite conceding five goals, the Koreans are not exactly helping their opponents to create a dozen clear-cut chances.

This is probably why the AI is all too happy to settle for three Dortmund goals on Wednesday evening, resulting in current odds of 1.88 at bookmaker Betano.

Our AI is proving to be rather pragmatic with its predictions: with at least three BVB goals and an assumed victory by at least two goals, the 3-1 result is a foregone conclusion – even if other results are of course conceivable in this regard.

Although the odds of 11.0 for the aforementioned final result are decent, I’m not necessarily keeping my fingers crossed for the AI in this case; as you know, I already predicted a clean sheet victory for Borussia at the beginning.

The best odds for BVB vs. Ulsan

The odds for the BVB Ulsan tip offer Westphalia fans nothing but reassurance. Although they still need one point to secure qualification, there seems to be no danger of them missing out on the round of 16.

Given the consistently low odds for the favorites, it is at least positive to note that they seem to be rising slightly as kickoff approaches; on Tuesday, they had broken the 1.20 mark at almost all bookmakers.

However, if the odds on BVB are still far too low for a single bet despite the reported trend, bets on the underdog are all the more worthwhile if they are successful.

Should the assessments of a European challenger once again prove too pessimistic, there is a generous 6.0 return for the “X,” with the odds even doubling again in the event of a Ulsan victory!

Dortmund vs. Ulsan match analysis:

Borussia Dortmund goes into this decisive Group F match with a clear goal: to secure victory and take the lead in the table. After a frustrating goalless draw against Fluminense and a chaotic 4-3 win against Mamelodi Sundowns, Niko Kovac’s men must finally put in a dominant performance.

The Bundesliga side has shown plenty of attacking flair and a desire for exciting games. Four of their last ten matches have seen four or more goals scored. However, it has regularly been defensive errors that have made life difficult for the Black and Yellows.

Against this backdrop, Dortmund must focus more on possession, tempo, and dominance in midfield. This could help them avoid the defensive weaknesses that almost cost BVB dearly against the South Africans.

The situation is quite different for Ulsan HD. The K-League club has no chance of advancing. Now it’s all about pride. The Koreans have shown fighting spirit, but that wasn’t enough to get any points.

A narrow 0-1 defeat against Sundowns and a spirited but ultimately unsuccessful 2-4 loss to Fluminense left a lot to be desired. Ulsan’s low possession statistics (around 31% on average) underscore the team’s reactive style of play. The “Tigers” are at the bottom of the table in almost all relevant statistical parameters.

With elimination already certain, the South Koreans may now be able to play more freely, but their defensive weaknesses are likely to be exposed once again by Dortmund’s attacking power. The challengers should be able to put up resistance at times, but the overall difference in quality is too great.

Borussia Dortmund form check

Despite average performances, BVB are fighting for the top spot in Group F.

With their latest victory against Mamelodi, no matter how hard the Borussia players had to fight for it, Dortmund have now gone nine games without defeat.

Spectacle certainly seems to be synonymous with the Germans, as eight of their last ten games have ended with more than four goals. Only in three of those games did the Westphalians keep a clean sheet.

Statistically speaking, Dortmund’s performances have been rather disappointing given their potential. Dortmund are mid-table in most of the key Club World Cup statistics. Although the offense has achieved a respectable 3.15 xG in two games, this is well below what one would expect against opponents of this caliber.

Meanwhile, the defense looked porous, conceding three goals against Sundowns and “allowing” Kobel to make numerous difficult saves, giving him much more work to do than was actually necessary. The Borussia goalkeeper had to save nine shots on goal, but was only able to parry six of them.

Kovač’s team showed its usual attacking strength. However, as it has so far been unable to consistently control games or dominate the midfield, the opposition has remained in the game longer than it should have.

Ulsan Hyundai form check

Ulsan HD goes into its last game of the Club World Cup already eliminated. The statistics show that the team is struggling at this level.

With an average of 2.5 goals conceded per game, the Koreans are 27th in the defensive rankings, ahead of only Wydad, Al Ain, and Auckland. Their offense is extremely harmless, with only 1.9 xG in two games (25th overall) and an average of only 3 shots on goal per game.

The Koreans spent most of their time on the defensive and recorded the second-lowest possession rate of the tournament with only 31%. Their total of three big chances underscores their lack of punch in attack.

Disciplined and resilient, they will try to frustrate Dortmund, but the difference in quality remains glaring. It will depend on how the Black and Yellows approach this game, but it is a fact that the Koreans will not be calling the shots here…

My tip: Over 2.5 goals & both teams to score
