The first of the two participants for Super Bowl 2025 is being sought. Can the Commanders continue their “cinderella story,” as the Americans would say? No one would have expected to see Washington in the NFC Championship Game at the beginning of the season.

The Eagles are coming into this game with a lot of momentum. Jalen Hurts proved last weekend against the Rams that he can deliver even when he’s injured, despite his knee problems.

Only 191 yards and no touchdowns speak for themselves. Although he put in a better performance in the second game with five touchdowns, two interceptions showed that Philadelphia remains dangerous even when WAS gets a grip on the offense.
The Commanders’ defense, on the other hand, has often left something to be desired this season, especially against the run. Detroit managed to score over 200 yards on the ground against them, and the Eagles also ruthlessly exploited this weakness in both games.
In short, while Washington could certainly make a mark on offense on Sunday, it is the defense that is the primary concern for fans.
A decisive factor will be the Eagles’ control of the game. If they can establish their running game, they have a good chance of running down the clock and giving Washington less possession.
The difficult weather conditions will punish pass-heavy teams and favor those who, like Philadelphia, can run the ball on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
The Commanders, in turn, will have to hope that their rookie quarterback Daniels is able to see through the Eagles’ complex defensive schemes better this time than in the first encounter.
The Eagles’ defensive coordinator, meanwhile, knows better than anyone how to put pressure on young playmakers – something that clearly bothered Daniels in the past.
However, the young quarterback also learned a lot in these games and in 120 minutes of play against Philadelphia, he gained a good impression of what to expect on Sunday.
