After eight and a half years, Vitus Eicher and 1. FC Heidenheim will part ways in the summer. The club announced that the 34-year-old’s contract, which is due to expire, will not be extended. Eicher moved from his youth club 1860 Munich to the Brenz in January 2017, where he was always a backup but still a member of the team squad. He made a total of twelve appearances for Frank Schmidt’s side, including six in the 2nd division, five in the DFB Cup and one match in the Conference League this season.
