Columbus Crew has landed a transfer coup: Portuguese midfielder André Gomes, who has terminated his expiring contract with Lille OSC prematurely, has signed with the twelfth-placed team of the past MLS season until June 2027 – including an option for another year. Due to injury, the 2016 European champion has only played twice at Lille this season. With FC Barcelona, Benfica Lisbon, Valencia and Everton, the CV of the now 32-year-old has some prominent stations.
