Since the expiration of his contract with FC Schalke 04 last summer, Ralf Fährmann (37) has been without a club. This Wednesday he announced the end of his career. “I’ve deliberately taken my time in case something interesting or exciting comes along, but in the last few months I haven’t received any offers where I would say I’m burning for it,” Fährmann told Transfermarkt: “I won’t put on my goalkeeper gloves in professional football anymore.” In the course of his career, he played 230 Bundesliga games and one Premier League game.
