After the Club World Cup and a three-week break, Bayern’s pros are back in action this week to prepare for the new season. The first week of FC Bayern’s 2025 summer schedule also features the first friendly match against French top club Olympique Lyon.
The Bayern – Lyon friendly will take place on Saturday, August 2, at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m.
Fans will be eagerly watching to see whether newly signed superstar Luis Diaz will make his Bayern debut.
Will Bayern vs. Lyon be broadcast live on TV?
The broadcast of Bayern Munich vs. OL on Saturday evening will only be available on the Bayern Munich portal FC Bayern TV PLUS. However, this requires a paid subscription (4 euros/month).
There will be no live broadcast of this Bayern friendly on Sky or DAZN. Sky will instead be showing the BVB friendly against OSC Lille on Saturday afternoon.
The starting point
The Bayern players now have one week of training under their belts after three weeks of vacation – and their first “test” is coming up on Saturday. They will face France’s top club Olympique Lyon.
OL finished last season in sixth place in the French Ligue 1. In addition, Olympique has been in preparation for a little longer than the German champions.
The Lyon players have played three friendly matches so far, with two wins and one draw: 1-0 against French lower-division club Villefranche, 0-0 against Belgian club Racing White Daring Molenbeek, and a 4-0 win at Hamburger SV.
It is not yet clear whether there will be betting odds for the Bayern – Lyon friendly. If the bookmakers offer odds for it, they will only do so on the day of the game.
