After his loan spell at FV Illertissen, Markus Ponath returned to FC Ingolstadt and immediately took his place between the posts for the Schanzer. The 24-year-old, who has been under contract with FCI since 2012, has now extended his contract with the third division club, although the club did not disclose the length of the contract. Ponath is currently sidelined with a broken metacarpal. “Until his bitter injury in Verl, Poni was an enormously important pillar of support for our team with his calmness, presence, and charisma. We are all the more delighted that he will remain part of our club in the future,” said sporting director Ivo Grlic.
