Leonardo Jardim has taken over as coach at Flamengo. The well-travelled coach was most recently under contract with league rivals Cruzeiro. Flamengo, who recently parted ways with Filipe Luis after an 8-0 victory, did not name a contract period. Jardim worked for many years in Monaco, which he led to the championship in France in 2017. Previously, the Venezuelan-born had worked in South America, Portugal and later in Saudi Arabia and finally Brazil.
