As expected, second division club Fortuna Düsseldorf have extended their cooperation with coach Daniel Thioune. The new contract is valid until the summer of 2028, as F95 announced on Thursday evening. The 50-year-old took over the Rhinelanders in February 2022 in 16th place in the table and led them to relegation. Last season, Fortuna missed out on a return to the Bundesliga under Thioune in a dramatic relegation play-off against Bochum
