4 Hills Tournament Oberstdorf 2025: The Hill
The large Schattenberg ski jump in the World Cup Ski Jumping Arena in Oberstdorf is one of the most important ski jumping hills in the world. It lies on the eastern outskirts of Oberstdorf and below the Schattenberg.
Since 1953, the opening competition of the Four Hills Tournament has been held here.
From April to October 2011, the old 100-meter ski jump was converted into the new 106-meter hill. As of December 1, 2017, the entire facility – which also includes an HS106 normal hill, three smaller plastic ski jumps and a grandstand system – will bear the official name Audi Arena Oberstdorf due to a partnership with Audi.
The Schattenberg Ski Jump – Facts & Figures:
- Tower height: 45 meters
- K-point: 120.0 meters
- Hillsize: 137.0 meters
- Inrun length: 105.5 meters
- Take-off speed: approx. 92 km/h
- Hill record: 143.5 meters – Sigurd Petterson (NOR/2003)

- Last Austrian winner: Stefan Kraft, 2024
Who will win the tour opener in Oberstdorf?
The list of favorites for the Four Hills Tournament Oberstdorf 2025 opening competition is long and extensive – and yet two Slovenians stand out so far in this still short season.
Domen Prevc has won five individual competitions so far this winter – two each in Wisla and Klingenthal and one in Engelberg. For the start of the tour in Oberstdorf, he is therefore a very hot tip – also in the Oberstdorf betting odds of the sports betting providers.
But his compatriot Anze Lanisek also comes to the Schattenberg ski jump with self-confidence. He is third in the overall World Cup and has recorded two victories so far this season.
A hot candidate for victory will also be the Japanese and three-time tour winner Ryoyu Kobayashi. He is second in the World Cup and was the only one to break the Prevc dominance in Engelberg.
Stefan Kraft won the tour opener in Oberstdorf last year and has had a good season so far. However, the Austrians are currently far away from the dominance of last season – this applies not only to the reigning tour winner Daniel Tschofenig, but also to Jan Hörl.
What are the German chances for a home victory at the Oberstdorf 2025 Four Hills Tournament start?
Philipp Raimund has had a very good season so far and is also the best DSV eagle in the overall World Cup. So far, it has been rather disappointing for Pius Paschke, Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger.
