Germany – Hungary betting tip, prediction & odds Euro 19.06.2024

Germany Hungary betting tip & the best odds for the 2nd matchday of Group A

Crazy soccer world in my Germany-Hungary betting tip: Germany’s first test match performances were worthy of criticism and now, after an opening gala, they are already on the verge of reaching the round of 16 at EURO 2024.

If Germany also win their second group game in Stuttgart today, Julian Nagelsmann’s team can already plan for the first knockout round

Piquant: If Switzerland do their homework against Scotland in the parallel match, they will face their neighboring country in a direct duel for the group win at the end of the group stage.

In my Germany-Hungary prediction, however, the focus is less on whether the DFB team will beat the Hungarian underdogs and more on how they will do it. And I’ve already let the cat out of the bag:

I have no doubt that the three-time European champions will win

Since the Germany odds are widely below 1.40, however, I’m switching to a goal bet with my main tip of “Over 2.5 goals in the match”, which I would actually describe as a “no brainer” in advance.

I will of course provide you with the relevant statistics as well as the Germany Hungary odds, garnished with numerous alternative bets, which our European Championship bookmakers are of course not holding back with these days.

In addition, I will not simply let the warning finger disappear à la Ronald Koeman. I don’t think the German team is at its peak yet.

And the Hungarians in particular should have the potential to give the German defense a headache – at least temporarily. So I don’t believe that the hosts of the European Championship will win outright on the second matchday

The bookmakers’ forecast for Germany – Hungary

Surprises have failed to materialize in the Group A opener. Germany and Switzerland were both favorites to win and will also go into their respective games on Wednesday with clear advantages.

As already mentioned, Oddset and Co. are going out on a limb with their Germany Hungary odds. A Germany win is not recommended as a single bet due to the low odds.

A Hungarian success is listed with double-digit odds, but in view of the starting position and after the German 5:1 against Scotland, it is of course only a high-risk tip.

The draw is also not an option for me in the Germany Hungary prediction with odds of around 6.00. In short: You should rather avoid a classic 1×2 bet for the Germany vs. Hungary match

Germany vs Hungary odds: Where are the highest Germany vs Hungary odds?

The boost offers from Bwin are much more interesting. Especially when it comes to player bets, the bookmaker offers Germany/Hungary odds that are quite something.

The tip “Jamal Musiala to score the first goal of the match” immediately catches the eye. The Bayern star was the most agile player on the pitch against Scotland and was named player of the match, and not just because of his goal.

If the youngster opens the scoring against Hungary, Bwin Boost will offer brilliant odds of 6.50.

If Ilkay Gündogan scores, the odds “only” rise to 3.10. However, the scenario is also different. The bet is won if the Barca professional scores a goal at any time

Analysis: Germany vs Hungary

There’s nothing to sweep under the carpet: In my previous Germany Scotland betting tip, I didn’t predict the DFB team’s commanding victory in this way.

Thanks to Rüdiger’s own ricochet goal, however, my main tip “Both teams score” still worked out. Good for me, good for your betting slips.

However, I won’t be rowing all the way back in my assessment of the DFB team. I still don’t see Germany as the first title favorites in the Euro 2024 betting.

The Scots were – I’m being deliberately blunt here – simply too bad for that. Two early goals for Germany, a penalty, the red card for Porteous – almost everything went in the DFB team’s favor.

I expect much more resistance from Hungary. That’s also the reason why I’ve gone for a maximum of three goals and left the “over 3.5 goals” at odds of around 2.40 to braver betting experts.

But don’t forget: In the seven games before the European Championship opener, Germany never scored more than two goals. If the black, red and gold stay under the three-goal mark on Wednesday, you can pick up great odds of 1.68.

You see: I always include at least one Hungarian goal in my “Over 2.5 goals” betting tip. There are several reasons for this.

Firstly, Germany have only conceded twice in their last 15 games. Secondly, Hungary’s tactical approach does not allow them to grind out a point with a 0-0 draw.

Fittingly: The last time the 1964 European Championship bronze medallists conceded 0-0 was against Italy in September 2022.

In any case, the record since then is impressive. In the 16 international matches that followed, they only lost twice.

But the truth is that they have also conceded those two defeats in their last three games. Either way, the odds for a Hungarian goal of just under 2.00 are dripping with value from a statistical point of view.

And if that means that a German defender has to stumble the ball over his own line again in the end, then that’s fine with me – from the point of view of my Germany Hungary prediction

Germany Hungary odds analysis

If you take a closer look at the Germany Hungary odds, it quickly becomes clear that the bookmakers can well imagine an unchallenged win for the DFB team.

The “Both teams to score” has been given odds of around 2.10 and is therefore listed at well above average.

From my point of view, this is an excellent betting alternative, as I consider the German goal to be obligatory anyway.

Also interesting: If the DFB team gets off to an early start, as they did against Scotland, the German lead at half-time becomes the focus of attention. Here too, Germany’s odds of around 1.70 are in a lucrative range.

When it comes to potential goalscorers, the focus is naturally on Kai Havertz. The Arsenal star is also likely to be preferred to Niclas Füllkrug against Hungary and is available at odds of around 2.10 to score.

Jamal Musiala, who performed strongly against Scotland, is at 2.40, which is also worth considering

Germany vs Hungary odds: Hungary and the goals conceded

Of course, when you look at the history of the European Championship, things quickly become rather gloomy for the Hungarian national team.

This is only the fifth time they have ever qualified for a EURO. Moreover, their greatest successes lie decades in the past. Hungary finished third in 1964. Eight years later, they finished fourth.

Most recently, however, they were eliminated in the preliminary round of the 2021 European Coronavirus Championship. In fact, Hungary have not won their last seven European Championship matches (4 draws, 3 defeats).

Even the “double chance X2” is therefore out of the question for me as a “hedging bet” at odds of 3.75.

Of course, it is also true that Germany has not covered itself in glory at the most recent European Championship finals. They have been waiting for their fourth title since 1996

Irredeeming statistics – or not?

Of course, I still owe you the statistics of the direct comparison. At first glance, it looks as if two heavyweights of world soccer are going to meet here.

After all, the balance is extremely even, with 13 wins for the DFB team, twelve draws and twelve Hungarian victories.

The majority of Hungary’s victories, however, came in the ancient days of soccer. Who doesn’t remember the impressive 4:1 win by Hungary in 1911

However, modern soccer statistics also show that the Hungarian national team is not one of Germany’s favorite opponents.

The DFB team has only won one of its last six matches against the 1954 World Cup finalists in front of a home crowd. Three of these games were even lost.

The last time they met was in the 2022/2023 Nations League. They drew 1-1 in Hungary and Germany lost 1-0 in Leipzig after a poor performance.

This is the fourth time the two national teams have faced each other at a major tournament. In 1954, the “Miracle of Bern” took place at the World Cup after the clash in the group stage. The group match at EURO 2020 also ended in a 2-2 draw.

Interesting for a well-founded Germany-Hungary prediction: The bet “Over 2.5 goals” would have led to success in each of those three matches.

In addition, Hungary scored 1:0 in each of them. If this also happens on Wednesday evening, you can collect strong odds of 4.10 from the European Championship betting providers

My Germany Hungary tip:

I’m not saying that the DFB team won’t spring a negative surprise or two over the course of the European Championship.

However, after the performance against Scotland and the ease with which Nagelsmann’s team played, a goalless bore against Hungary would simply not fit the bill.

I therefore assume that the DFB team will once again play creatively and boldly going forward, while Hungary will remain dangerous through counter-attacks and pressing.

The match should therefore offer at least three goals. Accordingly, my Germany Hungary betting tip is: The 2.5-goal mark will be cracked, giving you odds of 1.50.
