Heidenheim – Dortmund betting tip, AI prediction & odds 01/02/2025

Bundesliga 20. Matchday, Saturday, 01/02/2025 at 3:30 pm

The win against Donetsk during the week was not enough for Dortmund to reach the top 8 and thus directly reach the last 16 of the Champions League. I had written a prediction for the match and, with both teams scoring, I had the right hunch.

In my Heidenheim Dortmund tip, however, I am opting for a different approach: the relegation-threatened club from Baden-Württemberg is not getting out of its scoring slump.

I expect BVB to take the momentum from their first win of the year and score at least two goals in the last game under the leadership of interim coach Mike Tullberg. Over 1.5 BVB goals have very good odds at Betano.

The betting providers’ prediction

Dortmund have had a tough time away from home in the Bundesliga so far. This is also reflected in the odds of the top sports betting apps. Dortmund only have odds of around 1.80 for a win on Saturday.

Heidenheim is just above the 4.00 mark, with the draw just below that. In my opinion, the “double chance X2” is still worth a combination ticket because of the still quite high BVB odds. I definitely don’t expect 1. FCH to win.

KI prediction Heidenheim vs. Dortmund: That’s what ChatGPT predicts

The AI also sees advantages for Dortmund, we have picked up three odds with different risk levels. The safest bet, ChatGPT still finds the “Over 2.5 goals” classic. For this we get a tasty 1.60.

A rate that I can definitely underline after many goal-filled Dortmund matches. It was also not quiet at Heidenheim and the underdog could well benefit from individual mistakes in the BVB defense and their weakening due to the Schlotterbeck suspension.

The “Over 2.5 goals” are also part of the medium-risk bet, only in this variant, Dortmund’s victory is included, here we are moving into the medium double-digit odds range. Personally, however, I don’t think the jump from the simple Dortmund victory odds is high enough.

With the three odds, I have the impression that the AI is very convinced that we will see a 2-1 victory for the guests. After all, the high-risk tip is the exact match result of 2-1 for last year’s Champions League finalist.

Analysis: Heidenheim vs. Dortmund

ChatGPT is not deterred by Dortmund’s poor away record, at least not as much as I am. After all, I’m only betting on BVB scoring two goals; the outcome doesn’t affect my odds.

Borussia has only managed to win one away game so far, which was against Wolfsburg just before the turn of the year and was really close towards the end. In nine games, Dortmund came away empty-handed six times. Only Kiel and Bochum have taken even fewer points.
The Heidenheim home record is also scary. The otherwise strong team from the Voith Arena is only 18th in this category this year, with seven points in front of their own fans being the lowest in the league!

Only the Kiezickers from St. Pauli have scored even fewer goals at home. At least the 16 goals conceded are still within reason compared to their opponents. But in view of the weak last few weeks, that’s not really encouraging.

Odds analysis

Heidenheim has lost almost all of its games against other teams in the bottom half of the table. 0-2 against Bochum, 0-2 against St. Pauli, 1-2 against Augsburg. The 2-0 win against Union Berlin was their only victory so far in 2025 and their first Bundesliga win since the end of September!

The record is alarming and in nine of the last ten league games, cult coach Frank Schmidt’s team has conceded at least two goals. I’m currently skeptical about avoiding relegation. At best, with their current form, they’ll still be in the relegation play-offs.

Overall, Heidenheim is among the 40 club in terms of total goals conceded. Only Kiel and Bochum, who are below last year’s promoted team, have conceded more. On average, it’s two, which confirms my “Over 1.5 BVB goals” odds.

In addition, Dortmund’s offense is on the rise. That’s why I took a closer look at the goal scorer odds.

Heidenheim vs. Dortmund: Some dangerous offensive players at BVB

I am particularly impressed by the 2.25 of Serhou Guirassy. Overall, it is not yet the season that he and Dortmund had hoped for, but the last few games have gone better. He has scored the first goal three times in a row.

That makes him the clear favorite of all players at 5.50 to score the first goal again against Heidenheim. Incidentally, he is also the one the Black & Yellows choose for their penalties.

Alternatively, I’m tempted by the 2.87 and 3.25 offered by Karim Adeyemi and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

Of course, the new customer bonus from Betano is also tempting. Click on the graphic, register and collect a 20-euro freebet.

Do you already know the double chance for goal scorer odds?

At Winamax you can place double chance bets on goal scorers. Besides the “Adeyemi or Guirassy” package (1.64), I am particularly tempted by the “Gittens or Guirassy” option at 1.74. The latter has scored 15 of Dortmund’s 34 league goals.

In the last five games in which Dortmund scored, Guirassy and/or Gittens scored. This bet is definitely worth considering. What’s more, the odds at Winamax are free of betting taxes.

On top of that, as a new customer, you can get your hands on a fantastic bonus. Your first deposit will be doubled in the form of free betting credit.

You can get an extra 100 euros in freebets on top of that, and you only have to wager your real money once at odds of 1.05 before withdrawing it.

Dortmund and Heidenheim have met three times in competitive matches. The first time the teams met in a summer friendly in 2014, a 4-3 win for BVB. Almost ten years later, the teams finally faced each other in the top flight.

After a superior first half, Dortmund still squandered a 2-0 lead. The 2-2 draw was followed by a goalless draw when they met again in the Voith Arena.

There was more action in the first leg of this season, with Heidenheim again putting pressure on Borussia when they had what was thought to be a comfortable lead. This time, Dortmund managed to hold on for the three points with a 4-2 win.

Heidenheim has often played well against the big teams, using its counterattacking strength to capitalize on moments of transition against high-flying favorites, which is why the goal of both teams is not a bad rate.

My Heidenheim Dortmund Tip:

Heidenheim is the worst home team in the league and has only won one Bundesliga game since the end of September. In nine of the last ten games, the 16th-placed team in the table has conceded at least two goals.

Dortmund are under pressure to win, but have only managed one win away from home so far. In addition, two central defenders, Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle, are missing.

While the AI is confident of BVB’s success, I’d rather take a conservative approach and go for the Betano odds that the guests, who have recently improved offensively, will score at least two goals.

This is my Heidenheim Dortmund tip: BVB scores over 1.5 goals.
