Coppa Italia Semi-final second leg, Wednesday, 23.04.2025 at 21:00
The rumor mill was in full swing – but now it’s clear: despite the death of the Pope, matches in Italy will continue, and the Coppa Italia will also go ahead. The second leg between Inter Milan and AC Milan will take place as planned – a real cracker!
In my Inter Milan AC Milan prediction, I’m assuming that the Nerazzurri will prevail this time after the 1-1 draw in the first leg.
It would be truly diabolical if even the fifth Derby Della Madoninna in a row didn’t go to Internazionale, wouldn’t it?
The sad death of the Pope has turned the Italian league upside down, but it hasn’t thrown the betting markets and German-licensed bookmakers off course.
Inter Milan AC Milan odds from various bookies have been circulating heavily, as the return leg is ultimately the decider.
In my personal betting prediction, I’ll get down to brass tacks with you and shed light on the best betting scenarios as well as the best sports betting bonuses.
The betting providers’ predictions?
The Inter Milan AC Milan odds promise derby drama with a hint of favoritism: a home win for the Nerazzurri is at 2.00 – Inter is therefore the slight favorite at San Siro.
A draw is at 3.55 and is therefore by no means out of the running. Finally, a win for AC is at 3.75 on average, which officially makes them the underdogs, but not without a chance.
Anyone looking at the Inter Milan AC Milan odds should combine the heart-pounding excitement of a derby with a cool head and a clear view.
Analysis: Inter Milan vs AC Milan
Things are currently rather mixed for both Milan clubs. Inter saw their lead over Napoli melt away at the weekend – 0-1 in Bologna. Competing in three competitions at the same time seems to be taking its toll.
Nevertheless, there is no time to catch their breath: the return leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against arch-rivals AC Milan is coming up. The first leg ended 1-1, so everything is still to play for.
And as if that weren’t enough, Roma await in the league – and Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.
Inzaghi must get his team back on track. Only two wins from the last six competitive games speak for themselves (3 draws, 1 defeat).
Particularly bitter: things haven’t been going well in the derby either. Inter haven’t won against Milan in four consecutive games – the last time that happened was 20 years ago.
Milan are also under pressure. On Sunday, they lost 1-0 to Atalanta – their fifth defeat in their last ten games.
They are six points behind the international places in the league, so the cup is now a big opportunity. However, they haven’t won it since 2003, so it would be doubly important to achieve something here.
Odds analysis
“The game will be decided in extra time” at 5.90 – pure intuition. But sometimes that’s exactly what you need! A 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, then a late goal from the Nerazzurri before penalties? Sounds crazy – but somehow plausible. In any case, the odds are tempting.
“First goal: Inter” at 1.70 – a classic bet for home games at San Siro. The Nerazzurri know how to take an early lead – even if it doesn’t always work in the derby. But the chances are good that they will make the first statement here.
Inter Milan vs. AC Milan: Will the spell be broken?
Derby della Madonnina – this name has a history. And currently, Inter are clearly behind here, as already mentioned.
They haven’t won against Milan in four games (2 draws, 2 defeats), a dry spell last seen between 2002 and 2005, when they went ten games without a win.
In derbies like this, form on the day often counts, but psychologically, Milan should have a slight advantage.
On the other hand, Inter have the chance to not only reach the final with a win in the second leg, but also to finally end this little curse.
So for both teams, it’s not just about advancing, but also about prestige in the city. The confirmed absences of Zielinski and Thuram will certainly hurt Internazionale.
Another high-scoring Milan derby?
Tammy Abraham has proven to be a real factor in recent derby cup clashes – he was the last player to score for Milan in both of their most recent cup matches against their city rivals.
This shows once again that he is at his best in heated, explosive games. Only the derby universe can write stories like this.
While Abraham’s goal ratio is around 4.00 in every good sports betting app, it’s worth taking a closer look at the lineups.
Inter will start with Lautaro Martinez on Wednesday, who, after missing the first leg, needs just one more goal to become the third Inter player in history to score 10 goals against Milan.
But Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi are also potential candidates for a goalscorer bet.
On the other hand, Milan also has several strikers to choose from. Santiago Gimenez, for example, is back in training after his injury and could play a role as a substitute.
However, the main task for AC lies with Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic, who are fighting for a place in the attack, while coach Sergio Conceicao recently experimented (unsuccessfully) with a 3-4-3 system against Atalanta to increase his team’s offensive power.
Milan will also continue to be without injured full-backs Kyle Walker and Emerson Royal, as well as Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
It remains to be seen whether Conceicao will nevertheless opt for the tried-and-tested Alex Jimenez on the right flank to stabilize the defense and at the same time play more aggressively.
My Inter Milan – AC Milan tip:
It’s going to be a close one! Internazionale are clearly feeling the strain of the triple burden of the Coppa Italia, Serie A and Champions League!
Milan are struggling themselves, but for some inexplicable reason they always put in their best performances in the city derby.
In view of the Inter Milan AC Milan odds and the starting position I personally am clearly looking forward to a possible extension!
