It has been known for some time that Alexander Isak wants to leave Newcastle United to join Liverpool, and that both clubs have already been in negotiations. The Swedish striker was absent from the Magpies’ squad for their Premier League opener at Aston Villa (0-0) last weekend. Now the 25-year-old has once again emphatically underlined his desire to leave and at the same time lashed out at his employer in a statement: “When promises are broken and trust is lost, a relationship cannot continue,” Isak wrote on social media.
