Benfica Lisbon and Besiktas Istanbul have reached an agreement in principle on the transfer of Orkun Kökcü, as both clubs have announced. According to the agreement, the Portuguese runners-up will initially loan the midfielder to the Turkish first division club for the coming season, before a purchase obligation of €25 million comes into effect, which could increase by a further €5 million through bonus payments. Kökcü moved from Feyenoord to Lisbon in the summer of 2023 and scored 18 goals in 85 games.
