La Liga B, 14th matchday, Monday, 11/11/2024 at 8:30 PM
International break – again! While a number of national players have already left for their respective teams, the Segunda Division continues as normal.
I am now dealing with a club that is in crisis and hardly winning. The opponent? His biggest problem is in offense. Not an easy task for me to classify this game.
In my La Coruna Eibar tip, I will now tell you why I am not betting on a spectacle, but on an “under 2.5 goals”.
Deportivo La Coruna? That was the team that sensationally knocked FC Bayern out of the Champions League in 2003! The team that produced a top star in Roy Makaay, who would later cause a stir on the Isar for years to come.
Times that some fans of the Spaniards remember with mixed feelings. The reason: it has been many years since there have been such glorious evenings.
La Coruna is in the second division and is certainly not one of the candidates for promotion in 2024/25. The Galicians are just above the line, with 13 points after 13 match days.
The gaps are small, but the fans are naturally alarmed. They have only won three times, and curiously there have been five goals in two of those games! Ten goals in two games, with six more goals to be scored in the remaining eleven matches!
It’s incredible, really, because the offense is so lackluster and now and then it really wants to play football. This was also the case on the last matchday, when Cartagena was beaten 5-1.
Well, it was the ailing bottom-of-the-league team, but you still have to be that confident. Incidentally, the second win was a 5-2 victory against Albacete.
Two 0-0 draws, two 1-1 draws, three 1-2 defeats, one 0-1 loss and two 0-2 losses – La Coruna is actually known for its close results. The two five-packs were away, which means that a home game is not necessarily an advantage!
0:1 against Real Oviedo, 1:0 against Racing Ferrol, 0:2 against Burgos, 0:0 against Malaga, 1:1 against Eldense and 1:2 against Racing Santander, there are few points and few goals in their own stadium, only in the most recent match were the 2.5 scored.
Yeremay Hernandez is something of a goal scorer at La Coruna, accounting for six of the 16 goals scored this season. He is fit for the clash with Eibar, which is certainly the best news.
You can get odds of 4.50 for another goal at Betano, not a bad value. Speaking of odds, are the hosts favored against Eibar on Monday or are they the underdogs going into the game?
2.00 to 3.80 on average, it is probably the home field advantage that makes them the favorites here. The guests from Eibar have five points more, so the club is by no means a force to be reckoned with in the Segunda Division.
The biggest problem is definitely the attack, because in 13 games the team has only scored twelve goals! There were three brace performances, but since the end of September, they have only managed a maximum of one goal.
With three 1-0 wins and three 2-2 draws, the start was definitely successful, and there were only two different results for Eibar. What has happened since then? A downward trend began before the start of October and continues to this day.
Five of the seven encounters have been lost, two won. There have been no draws at all. But 1-0 wins remain, because the two aforementioned victories in recent weeks also came about in this way.
Four times at home, once away? No, Eibar doesn’t really like to play away from home! The last three away games have all been lost. How? With 0:1, of course! Three times 0:1, five times 1:0, you definitely have to have these two results in mind.
I therefore glance at Betano again and see: if Eibar lose 0-1, the odds would jump to 6.30. If they get their sixth 1-0 win of the season, you’re offered 9.25.
La Coruna are weak at home, Eibar are weak away – but someone will definitely avoid Monday’s defeat! The guests are very weak in offense, scoring less than one goal per game on average.
However, the Galicians are only better because there were two five-pack games; in the other encounters, the attack hardly scored anything. Fittingly, the duels in 2017/18, since then both have not met each other, only resulted in two goals.
For these reasons, I have decided to place an under bet. Neither is in form, so I don’t expect a radical turnaround. My tip is therefore:
The 2.5 goals will not be broken!
