Austrian Bundesliga Matchday 32, Qualification Group, Friday, 23.05.2025 at 19:30
Decisive match for Altach! While LASK has already secured first place and one of the playoff spots for the battle for the last Conference League ticket, SCR still has to sweat it out.
In my LASK Altach prediction, I expect a turbulent game with top chances for both sides, which is why I’m going for the Bwin bet that both teams will score at least one goal.
Linz has long since secured first place. But has the momentum slowed down a bit ahead of the Conference League playoffs? You might think so, given the latest results. After all, they only managed to pick up one point from their last two matches.
After a 0-0 draw against Hartberg, the offense failed to score again against GAK (0-1). However, both were unfortunate results, as Linz could have won both games with 15 shots on goal, several of which were dangerous.
Nevertheless, I am far from adding the 2.60 odds for a home win to my betting slip. In sporting terms, there is nothing at stake for the hosts, except perhaps their pride. Altach, on the other hand, wants to keep Klagenfurt at bay on the last matchday. A slip-up could mean relegation if Austria wins.
Admittedly, with eight games without a win in a row, Klagenfurt must first solve their own task at home against Hartberg, but TSV is the last and only team that the current bottom team in the qualifying group has been able to beat!
At 2.50, we can bet on Altacher’s away win against Linz with our Apple Pay betting providers, with a draw at 3.40. I don’t feel comfortable with any of the selections, and I’m sure the Austrian bookmakers didn’t have an easy time setting the odds.
So, once again, I’m going for both teams to score. Why not? I’ve had a pretty good feeling about this market in recent months and was named Author of the Month in both March and April thanks to a strong scoring rate.
However, scoring against LASK will be really difficult for the team from Vorarlberg, as evidenced by the 1.29 odds, which are not particularly low. In my opinion, though, it belongs on every good combination ticket at the start of the weekend!
This is not changed by the fact that Linz has failed to keep a clean sheet in only three of nine games in the qualifying group. At home, the men in striped jerseys have not conceded a single goal!
Nevertheless, the last match is likely to be one of the toughest for the defense, at least in the second half, when Altach will finally have to take risks and throw everything forward. We get attractive odds of 2.10 for at least two goals in the second half.
In a direct duel against Klagenfurt, Altach played 0-0 at home last week, remaining winless in a 2-2 draw against GAK and a 0-2 defeat to Hartberg. The last three points were earned at the end of April with a 3-0 win over Tirol.
How did the first three encounters between Linz and Altach actually go? Sportclub Rheindorf even won the first game at the Raiffeisen Arena, but with only 20 percent possession and few chances, it was one of their luckier victories.
LASK successfully took revenge in its two subsequent away games. In terms of possession, Altach had the better of the last encounter, but conceded a 0-2 defeat after going 1-2 down.
Linz only really looked convincing in the qualifying group. Before that, they had only won four of their eleven games. However, the visitors are not exactly a force to be reckoned with away from home and, in addition, they have the weakest attack in the mini table with 29 goals.
But: Linz cannot go into the last game with their best team. In addition to two injured goalkeepers, Andres Andrade is suspended in central defense, and several names are missing on the wings.
Altach are also struggling with a few suspensions and absences, some of them in defense. Two depleted squads, especially in the center and on the back wings, are definitely not arguments for a low-scoring game.
Those who like slightly higher odds could add “Over 2.5 goals” to both teams scoring. That would take us above the 2.00 mark. If that’s too risky for you, check out Winamax.
Conclusion: Linz has been unbeaten at home and without conceding a goal since being knocked out of the ÖFB Cup in early April. Nevertheless, I expect at least one goal against, as the opponent will be in absolute survival mode in the league and will have to take risks.
Despite their poor results, Klagenfurt are favorites in their parallel match and could still overtake SCR, while Linz have consistently scored at home against Altach since 2021. Due to various absences at LASK and SCR, I am going for the following bet:
Both teams to score!
