Leicester – Manchester City betting tip, prediction & odds 29.12.2024

Premier League, Sunday, 29.12.2024 at 15:00

There’s only one way to go: Down! Manchester City have long since ceased to play a role in our Premier League championship betting, with the crisis becoming more and more dramatic from matchday to matchday.

On Sunday, the year 2024 finally comes to a close for the reigning champions. The Skyblues go on their travels, and since their opponents are below the line, they are the favorites despite the crisis.

In my Leicester Manchester City betting tip, I’ll tell you why I’m going for a 2-0 handicap bet in favour of the home side here:

Analyzing Manchester City – it’s been relatively easy for years! Guardiola’s squad is known as offensive, mostly flawless, highly decorated. Crises? They don’t really exist with the Sky Blues.

The first half of the 2024/25 season is very different. While the club got off to a strong start with seven wins and two draws, City slipped into a crisis at the beginning of November that continues to this day.

Four defeats in a row, a brief rally in the 3-0 win against Nottingham, then just two more points from four matches – the sporting situation is becoming increasingly precarious from round to round.

One win from the last nine games, six defeats (four of them by a 2-1 scoreline), ten goals in this period? These are statistics that we are really unfamiliar with from the reigning champions.

City have played to nil three times in the entire season, including the rather successful start. So the defensive mistakes have been evident for months now.

The last away win? That was on October 20, when the Citizens won by a wafer-thin 2:1 at Wolverhampton, who were bottom of the table at the time. When was the winning goal scored here? In the fifth minute of stoppage time!

Three wins, two draws and four defeats, 13-13 goals, only on the first matchday with a 2-0 win against Chelsea – the figures I can find for the still-champions away from home do not match their own standards at all.

1:2 against Aston Villa, 2:2 against Crystal Palace, 0:2 at Liverpool, 1:2 against Brighton and 1:2 against Bournemouth? City have conceded exactly two goals in five away games

There are of course a few exciting bets! The first: Leicester will score at least twice on Sunday to continue their streak of conceding goals. At Betano you can secure odds of 3.30 for this bet. The Betano bonus code is also waiting to be redeemed here.

At the same time, you can bet at Interwetten that Leicester will score exactly twice. The value jumps even higher here, with 4.60 in the best case scenario. Speaking of odds, the bookies can’t really imagine that Leicester have much chance of winning on Sunday.

On average, I see a 7.70 to 1.35 – so it seems as if Manchester City’s crisis doesn’t even exist. Well, that’s probably also due to the fact that the Foxes themselves are in very poor form.

The returning team fell below the line just a few days ago, with three wins, five draws and ten defeats. For the second time in eight weeks, the team recently lost three times in a row.

0:4 against Newcastle, 0:3 against Wolves and 1:3 against Liverpool, defensively someone does not make the safest impression here. Only the 1-0 win against Bournemouth was played to nil, and Leicester have conceded a total of 40 goals.

Who defends worse? Nobody! At home, however, things are much better in terms of defense, with “only” 15 goals conceded. In addition, the Foxes only failed to score in their most recent home game, the 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton.

It’s also interesting to take a brief look at a historical fact. 0:1, 0:1, 1:0, 0:2, 0:1, 2:1 – the most recent home games against Manchester City have all been very close, so nothing is impossible on Sunday!

Anybody who thinks Manchester City will probably just be happy when this year 2024 is finally over. Stupid: Since there is no winter break in the Premier League, turning over the calendar alone will probably not help to end the terrible crisis.

Everything has gone off the rails for the Sky Blues. The champions are constantly losing, suddenly have no chance against underdogs, concede goal after goal and can no longer find a way out of the crisis.

Well, Leicester is a relegation candidate and also has the worst defense. The bottom line is that uncertainty meets uncertainty, which is why I don’t expect a clear outcome to the game. My tip is therefore:

A 2:0 HC is enough for Leicester to “win”
