Leon Goretzka is on the sidelines at FC Bayern. The Munich club are desperate to get rid of their midfielder this summer – even if they don’t say so openly. Goretzka himself does not want to move – he wants to stay at Bayern.
The question remains: Will there be a Leon Goretzka transfer or will the 29-year-old remain at Bayern this season?
Forecast and scenarios for a transfer of Leon Goretzka, who still has a Bayern contract until 2026 and a current market value of 30 million euros
Leon Goretzka transfer to Spain or Italy?
If the rumors are true, there could be a Leon Goretzka transfer to Spain or Italy.
Atletico Madrid from Spain’s La Liga are said to be interested in a Goretzka transfer, while SSC Napoli from Spain’s Serie A are thought to be candidates.
Atletico and Goretzka would be a “match” from a sporting point of view. On the one hand, as a midfielder with strong running and tackling skills, he is made for the intense game that Atleti coach Diego Simeone plays. On the other hand, Atletico, as the third power in Spanish soccer, certainly have a chance of winning titles and are also firmly in contention for the new Champions League.
A Goretzka move to SSC Napoli, on the other hand, would be less of a fit.
Last season, the southern Italian side only finished in 10th place in the final standings and are therefore not even represented in Europe this season. With new coach Antonio Conte, however, things could be on the up again for the light blue team. But does Goretzka want to miss out on at least one season of European football?
Independent of the sporting prospects, both teams have one problem for a Goretzka transfer: the salary.
Goretzka is said to earn up to 18 million euros at FC Bayern. A Goretzka transfer to Atletico or Napoli could only work out if he makes concessions in this regard, or if FC Bayern even pays him a certain amount of compensation in the event of a transfer.
With a transfer fee of around 20 million euros and a multi-year contract, the overall financial package for a Goretzka transfer would be quite lavish.

Leon Goretzka transfer to the Premier League?
What are the chances of Leon Goretzka transferring to the Premier League?
Both Liverpool FC and Arsenal FC would be options that could be worth considering for Goretzka. But do the Reds or the Gunners need him?
Liverpool already have Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones in the center of midfield. Arsenal have Declan Rice, Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Martin Odegaard in central midfield. He would face similar competition at both teams as he does in Munich.
It would therefore be more likely that Goretzka moves to Tottenham if it is to be the Premier League. The competition is much less fierce here. The disadvantage: there is no Champions League at Spurs.
He would hear the CL anthem at Aston Villa this season, but would the Villans need Goretzka and want to afford him? In sporting terms, definitely, but financially it’s a different debate.
A Leon Goretzka transfer prediction for Manchester United is similar. Apart from the fact that the Red Devils have a strong midfield, Goretzka would be the third transfer from Munich after de Ligt and Mazraoui
Bundesliga: Where is Goretzka moving to?
Or is Leon Goretzka not leaving the Bundesliga for a transfer at all?
According to rumors, a Leon Goretzka transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt could be an option. Following the end of Sebastian Rode’s career, Eintracht need someone in central midfield – with quality and experience. Goretzka fits both criteria.
In sporting terms, it would be a considerable step backwards, but a Frankfurt transfer would also see him play internationally this season – albeit in the “second-tier” Europa League.
There is really no other option for a Goretzka transfer within the Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund are at least quantitatively strong in central midfield (in terms of quality, a Goretzka transfer would definitely be an upgrade on bad buys like Felix Nmecha) and Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig have no need.
