Leverkusen – Frankfurt Tip Bundesliga, Matchday 3 on Friday, 09/12/2025 at 8:30 p.m.
After the international break, the Bundesliga continues with Matchday 3. Bayer Leverkusen will face Eintracht Frankfurt in their opening game and will be looking to get back on track after the hasty dismissal of coach Erik ten Haag. Will this be easy under new coach Kasper Hjulmand?
Unfortunately for Bayer, the Rhinelanders will face a strong opponent in SGE on Friday evening, who have performed like title contenders since the start of the season. Accordingly, in my Leverkusen Frankfurt tip, I am targeting the bet “SGE over 1.5 goals,” which currently has strong odds of just over 2.00 at Oddset.
Why this tip?
- Frankfurt already has 7 goals to its name after 2 match days.
- Bayer has already conceded 5 goals in the league.
- The bet would have been successful in the last 3 SGE games.
In fact, I expect an above-average goal-filled exchange between Leverkusen and Frankfurt. The Hessians in particular have recently shown themselves to be very offensive.
As my first alternative tip, I would therefore like to suggest the classic “over 2.5 goals.” Although the odds are struggling to reach the 1.50 mark, I believe it is a safe bet given the current situation.
Leverkusen – Frankfurt Prediction & Betting
Since the “Both teams to score” bet only yields odds of around 1.40 on its own, Winamax Germany also offers a combination bet. “Over 2.5 goals & Both teams to score” has odds of around 1.65. A hint: this combination would have been successful in five of the last six direct duels.
Anyone who fundamentally believes that Leverkusen will not get going under Hjulmand could also take a chance and target the Leverkusen Frankfurt prediction “Frankfurt leads at halftime.” In my opinion, the odds of around 3.25 justify the risk.
But I also see “draw at halftime” at odds of around 2.40 as an excellent alternative bet. I have my eye on 1-1 in particular.
What you need to consider when betting on Leverkusen vs. Frankfurt
- Leverkusen has taken 17 shots in its first two league games. So far, only Heidenheim and HSV (12 each) have a worse record.
- Frankfurt has scored seven goals, with a total xG (expected goals) value of 4.3.
- Only one Bundesliga game on Matchday 3, Bayern vs. HSV, has a higher goal line than the over/under line of 3.25 offered by bookmakers for this game.
- Leverkusen has won its last five games, scoring a total of 17 goals. In eight of the last ten games, the “both teams to score” bet has been successful. In nine of these games, at least three goals were scored.
- Three Frankfurt players (Jean-Mattheó Bahoya, Jonathan Burkardt, and Ritsu Doan) are currently in the top 10 in the Bundesliga in terms of xG value, with 1.12, 1.00, and 0.91 respectively.
Leverkusen – Frankfurt: AI tip & odds analysis
Nothing works without AI these days. Accordingly, our AI model is now weighing in and presenting its very own Leverkusen Frankfurt AI prediction.
First, the AI assistant puts forward a safety-first bet. The “Double Chance X2” has odds of just under 1.50 and is statistically sound. After all, Frankfurt has lost only one of its last 14 games.
Predicted chance of winning:
| Leverkusen win |
Draw |
Frankfurt win |
| 49.6% |
20.7% |
29.7% |
As an extension of this bet, the AI also has its sights set on the combination “Double Chance X2 & Both Teams to Score.” Here, we are already at odds of around 2.20 in the Bwin app. This bet would have been successful in 10 of the last 12 SGE games.
The AI model also has a risky tip up its sleeve. The 2:2 result bet has great odds of around 11.5. And for me, a draw is actually the most likely result.
The best odds for Leverkusen vs. Frankfurt
Clearly, the hosts are the favorites due to their home advantage.
However, the odds suggest that Eintracht Frankfurt has every chance of winning. Leverkusen’s win odds of 2.30 are close to Frankfurt’s odds of 2.70 on the 1X2 market.
Therefore, both teams are entering the match with an Asian handicap of 0.0. In this scenario, all bettors, whether pro-Leverkusen or in favor of the away team, will get their stake back if the match ends in a draw.
Considering how evenly matched the bookmakers rate this duel, this is a useful handicap for all cautious bettors.
Patrick Schick is the No. 1 in the market for goalscorers. The Leverkusen striker’s two goals in his last game against Werder Bremen have had a noticeable impact on the current odds.
The Czech striker opened the scoring in the 5th minute of the game on the second matchday. An hour later, Schick converted a penalty to make it 3-1 for Leverkusen.
Only one Bundesliga game on the third matchday has a higher goal line than the 3.25 line offered for Leverkusen vs. Frankfurt. The 4.0 line in the Bayern vs. HSV game is considered by the oddsmakers to be the most favored for goals.
Leverkusen vs Frankfurt Match Analysis:
There can be no two ways about it: the changes on the coaching bench and the departure of key players in the summer have left the hosts in trouble.
The bookmakers are expecting an open game and have set the goal line at 3.25. The results so far justify this expectation, and past head-to-head matches further support it.
In the last five games, both teams have scored four times, and all five games have seen at least three goals.
Leverkusen has averaged only 8.5 shots per game so far, the third-lowest in the league. Patrick Schick has scored two goals with only two shots, with a total xG (expected goals) of 1.17. He will continue to be the linchpin of Leverkusen’s attack.
On the other hand, Frankfurt’s attacking quality remains strong even without Hugo Ekitike, who was sold to Liverpool.
Can Uzun, Jean-Matteo Bahoya, and Ritsu Doan have each scored twice. If Jonathan Burkardt also finds his form, Eintracht will have no trouble scoring goals.
Leverkusen Form Check
After a turbulent start to the season, Bayer Leverkusen has introduced Kasper Hjulmand as its new head coach to replace the recently dismissed Erik ten Hag. Hjulmand, who previously coached the Danish national team and Mainz, signed a two-year contract.
This move follows a chaotic period for the club. Ten Hag was dismissed after just two Bundesliga games, marking the fastest managerial dismissal in the league’s history.
This was triggered by a poor start to the season, which included a defeat to Hoffenheim and a 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen, in which Leverkusen squandered a two-goal lead.
The departure of several key players in the summer, including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Granit Xhaka, had already made the season a major challenge for any coach.
Hjulmand is expected to introduce a style of play more similar to what Leverkusen fans were accustomed to under Xabi Alonso, who led the team to an unbeaten league season last season.
Frankfurt form check
Eintracht Frankfurt has made a perfect start to the domestic season. Many had wondered how they would fare after losing Hugo Ekitike in the summer, but the early signs are promising.
Despite losing two top-class strikers in the last eight months, Frankfurt has started the season with seven goals in two games. Jonathan Burkardt, who was brought in to replace Ekitike, has yet to contribute a goal or an assist, but the players around him have excelled.
The underlying data suggests that Frankfurt has been somewhat fortunate to score seven goals, with an xG of 4.3. Nevertheless, the Hessians have won the “expected goals” statistic in both of their league games so far, which will give them confidence ahead of this matchup.
Dino Toppmöller’s reputation continues to grow. His team is not as aggressive in defending as some of their Bundesliga rivals, but they are excellent on the counterattack and create a wealth of scoring opportunities through creative wing play.
