Liverpool – Atletico Tip Champions League, Matchday 1 on Wednesday, 09/17/2025 at 9:00 p.m.
On Matchday 1 of the new Champions League season, there will be a real cracker with the clash between Liverpool FC and Atletico Madrid. The Reds want to continue their winning streak after a successful start to the season, while Atletico managed to win their dress rehearsal against Villarreal (2-0).
Without beating around the bush, I’m betting on the English team in my Liverpool vs. Atlético prediction – with a small footnote.
“Liverpool to win & both teams to score” at excellent odds of around 2.90 at Interwetten is my conclusion based on the early stages of the season. Liverpool are on a winning streak (4 wins in a row), but Atlético are always good for a goal of their own.
If you want to make it a little easier, you can simply split my betting combination. “Liverpool to win” and “Both teams to score” are also available as single bets at similar odds of around 1.60.
Liverpool vs. Atletico AI predictions:
The big question at this point is, as always: What does our AI model have in store? So it’s time to take a look at the Liverpool Atletico AI prediction.
With the high risk, the AI model goes for a handicap bet. “Liverpool win with HC -1” brings in impressive odds of around 2.60. This is supported by the fact that the Reds won their last home game against the Spaniards 2-0.
On the other hand, LFC has won its last three competitive games by only one goal. So whether you want to use the Interwetten bonus for this bet is a tricky question.
Predicted chance of winning:
| Liverpool win |
Draw |
Atletico win |
| 55.4% |
21.3% |
23.3% |
The bet “Liverpool leads at halftime” offers slightly less risk. The odds of around 2.10 are extremely solid for a home game for the Reds. However, you have to keep in mind that Liverpool did not lead at halftime in their last two games.
The AI sees low risk in the bet “Over 2.5 goals.” I fully agree with odds of around 1.60 at Winamax Germany, as I am already predicting a 2-1 win for the English side. After two rather minimalist performances against Arsenal and Burnley (both 1-0), Liverpool are likely to play a more attacking game again.
