At the last moment, Liverpool conceded an equalizer against Everton in the Merseyside derby. Arsenal has managed to reduce the gap to at least seven points to the Reds.
Will the team from the Beatles city leave points on the table again? I don’t think so, quite the opposite: in my Liverpool Wolverhampton tip, I’m taking on the over 2.5 Liverpool goals at NEO.bet.
As we all know, anything is possible in the derby. We saw that again last Wednesday. Liverpool only took one point against the Toffees and actually didn’t put in a very convincing performance in offense.
The second setback in the last few days for what is otherwise arguably Europe’s strongest team. Last weekend, Liverpool unexpectedly lost to Plymouth in the FA Cup.
Arne Slot took too many risks with a B-team against the second division side. Nevertheless, I expect to see a completely different side at home against Wolverhampton, who have only lost one Premier League match so far.
Mohamed Salah and his teammates have scored 58 goals in the top flight, by far the most. And Wolverhampton? They are one of the shooting galleries this season, fighting against relegation.
The odds for Liverpool to win are just 1.20 at home in Anfield. Wolverhampton is assigned a whopping double-digit 13.5, with a draw at 6.80 at NEO.bet.
You can also conveniently combine all odds here. I had considered adding the Reds’ success to my three Liverpool goals.
With the jump from 1.68 to 1.72, I’d rather hedge my bets on a 3-3, even if that’s a very unlikely result. Liverpool will definitely not take any chances in a close victory.
We only saw against Everton that two goals are not enough quickly. I don’t really think the defensive performance is that outstanding overall either. But if you score around 2.5 goals per Premier League match, you’re going to have a shaky defense every now and then.
In their last seven matches, Liverpool only kept a clean sheet twice. I’m also not averse to both teams scoring, especially since the odds are attractively high at 1.90!
Liverpool against Wolverhampton has been a no-brainer in recent years. The Reds have won 12 of the last 11 league duels, with the Wanderers only managing an interim success in 2023.
In the first leg, we saw a one-sided game, only the result remained close. Liverpool were quite wasteful with their opportunities, only managing a 2-1 lead, with the hosts having only eight shots on target.
So how should that look at Anfield for Wolverhampton? That’s why I decided against both teams scoring and for a dominant performance by Jürgen Klopp’s former team.
If you take advantage of one of our world-class free bet offers, you could also just combine everything for a whopping odds without risking any losses.
Conclusion: Liverpool will show a reaction after the FA Cup exit and the 2-2 league draw against Everton, I am convinced! I’m not worried about the star-studded offense anyway.
The Reds already scored two goals in Wolverhampton, while still being quite inefficient.
Wolverhampton did manage a 2-0 win against Aston Villa in their last league game, but they have already conceded three goals against Chelsea and Newcastle in away games before that.
My Liverpool Wolverhampton tip: Over 2.5 Liverpool goals
