The title race in Switzerland could not be more exciting! There are only six points between the first six teams, so the whole picture could change within a few weeks.
The current leaders have lost recently and will now have to respond accordingly. They are only the underdogs in the top game at the third.
But: in my Lugano Servette Geneva betting tip, there is at least the role of favorite. I’ll tell you now why I think the double chance X2 makes sense.
It was one of those defeats that was really painful. Servette Geneva lost 2-3 to Yverdon Sport before the international break, and their fine run of five wins in a row is over.
It was only the second home defeat, so the team now needs to pull itself together as quickly as possible. They still have a two-point lead over Basel, but there are other contenders hot on their heels.
Five defeats before this, was Geneva able to respond each time? Defeat, victory, draw, victory, draw – it is by no means certain that a triple win will automatically follow at the weekend.
Six clean sheets are visible overall, and for a league leader this rate is not that impressive. Incidentally, Servette has only managed to take a lead into half-time in two of the last 17 league games.
The statistics for home and away games are not that different, but it is still striking that no one collects more points away from home than Servette Geneva.
After only two points from five away games, Servette have recently found their winning form. 2-1 at Grasshoppers, 1-0 against Lausanne and 3-1 at FC Zurich – three consecutive wins are an impressive result.
With the team having a total of six successes, you can see that Servette have never been as consistent as they are currently away from home. Incidentally, in seven of the last ten rounds, the league leaders did not concede a goal in the first half.
This could be relevant for you insofar as there is a bet called “Lugano does not score before half-time”. At Winamax, this bet would be rewarded with odds of 1.82.
It is the third time that Lugano and Servette Geneva have met this season. 1-3 away, 3-0 at home, that’s how the first two games ended. So Geneva doesn’t like to travel to Lugano?
They have won three of the last 14 duels there, which is indeed not the best yield. But: three of the last four encounters have not been lost either, so there is also good news.

Of course, only three points count for the hosts at the weekend if they still want to get involved in the title fight. The gap is three points, so the team could draw level.
The black and whites have been playing a second half of the season that raises many questions. After three defeats in a row, they finally won again, but we shouldn’t overestimate the narrow 2-1 win against bottom-of-the-league Winterthur.
Four wins, two draws, four defeats, it’s amazing that a team with these 2025 results can fight for the title. Since the beginning of November, they have only played a clean sheet once.
2:1, 0:3, 2:0, 1:1, 3:2, 2:2, 1:4? A glance at the last results at their own stadium shows: It is hardly possible to pigeonhole Lugano into just one category, and there were only three clean sheets, for example.
This is already the fourth time this season that Lugano has played at home twice in a row. How often have there been two victories? Never, so a real first could await us on Saturday.
Is the title race in the Swiss Super League getting even more exciting? The best are already close together, but if Lugano now wins against Servette Geneva, there really won’t be anything in between.
The bookmakers have labeled the guests as outsiders, but I see it a little differently. Sure, Geneva is not immune to mistakes and Lugano is not an absolute favorite opponent.
Nevertheless, the hosts are still not really finding their feet in the second half of the season, and they have already lost at home. I am therefore betting on a close and exciting match and placing the following bet:
