As “The Athletic” reported on Friday, Manchester United and Kobbie Mainoo are close to an agreement regarding an early contract extension. The 20-year-old midfield talent is still tied to the Red Devils until the summer of 2027 plus an option, but according to the report, his new contract is to run until 2031 and bring the England international a salary increase. Under Ruben Amorim, Manioo mostly came off the bench in the first half of the 2025/26 season, and last summer he even wanted to leave the club on loan. Under Michael Carrick, however, he is set.
