After the Champions League night, it’s back to business as usual. And that takes the Cityzens back to the Etihad Stadium this week.
There they welcome the Cottagers on Saturday afternoon. A team that has won twice in a row recently and is currently on a real run.
Can they continue this run and surprise? My Manchester City Fulham betting tip is optimistic:
During the week, coach Pep Guardiola’s men did their duty. They won 4:0 against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League.
The Catalan coach rested two regular players, including Ederson and Ruben Dias. At least I didn’t notice it on the pitch.
After two draws in a row, the Skyblues now have to score again. After all, they missed out on those against Arsenal (2:2) and Newcastle (1:1) last week.
But there is still no reason to panic. They are currently just one point behind leaders Liverpool. Nevertheless, the defense is a problem
In the Premier League, the reigning champions have not been able to keep a clean sheet in any home game so far. In fact, they have gone seven games without a clean sheet so far this season.
Going forward, however, things are working out with regularity. They have scored at least twice in five of their six league games so far.
So it’s no surprise that top betting providers such as Oddset are predicting a high-scoring game in the Manchester City Fulham betting tip.
Before kick-off, you will find odds of just over 2.00 if at least four goals are scored in the match. In the previous season, this was exactly the case in both matches.
However, I wouldn’t look at it so one-sidedly. Because the Londoners are currently in really good form. After the defeat on the first matchday, they are unbeaten (3S, 2U).
Among other things, they beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Craven Cottage during this phase and also won away against Nottingham.
And away games are a good keyword. The Lilywhites have only lost one of their last six (3S, 2U). So I expect at least one close result.
Here’s a calculation example for you: If the Cottagers manage to hold on to a theoretical two-goal lead, the handicap bets are a good idea.

What makes me optimistic? The Skyblues have always been on the back foot just before international breaks.
They have only won two of their last five matches (1U, 2N). At the same time, they have drawn six of their last eight games after European nights (2S).
We don’t have to kid ourselves, though: The Cottagers haven’t seen a trick against the Cityzens in the recent past.
In their ten most recent appearances at the Etihad Stadium, they have lost ten times in all competitions, with a goal difference of 32:3 in favor of Manchester.
It is highly doubtful that the visitors will come away with anything worthwhile in the end. But I don’t see them as being completely without a chance.
On the one hand, their own strong form speaks for that. On the other hand, the Skyblues also have their own problems in defense.
That’s why my Manchester City Fulham tip is: Both teams will score!
