After the final whistle, Wolverhampton Wanderers announced that the Brazilian had extended his contract ahead of schedule until 2029. The now 25-year-old joined from Atletico Madrid at the beginning of 2023, and has also played in Germany for RB Leipzig and Hertha BSC. “The new contract is a reward for what Matheus has achieved and symbolizes his importance to us on the pitch,” said Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs.
