It was a public telling-off. Hertha coach Pal Dardai’s decision to reprimand youngster Ibrahim Maza on the pitch after the first half against Hannover (1:1), instead of in the dressing room, did not please everyone at the club. Maza, who extended his contract in Berlin until 2026 a year ago, is set to become a fixture at Hertha in the coming season. Most recently, there were even plans at the club to discuss a contract extension beyond 2026. Dardai’s public anger attack is likely to have significantly reduced the willingness to do so in the Maza camp.
