The Miami Open tournament is the second of the nine Masters tournaments on the ATP calendar. The tournament has been around since 1985 and has been played directly after the Indian Wells Masters for years. Winning both tournaments in a row is also known as the “Sunshine Double”.
The Miami Masters is played in and around the Hard Rock Stadium. The Miami Dolphins football team plays their NFL home games in this stadium and the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix also takes place on the grounds.
The Miami Masters 2025 is scheduled for March 19-30. A women’s tournament will also be held during this period, parallel to the men’s Masters event.
Qualification will take place from March 15 (Sunday) to March 18 (Tuesday), before the first round of the men’s main draw is on the Miami Open 2024 schedule on Wednesday, March 19.

Miami 2025 Participants: Seeds & Favorites with Odds
The entire world elite will be competing at the ATP Masters Indian Wells 2025 – well, almost: world number one Jannik Sinner is missing, serving his strange doping suspension.
Due to Sinner’s absence, Alexander Zverev, currently number 2 in the ATP world rankings, is number 1 on the Miami 2025 seeding list. Third in the world rankings, Carlos Alcaraz, is seeded at number 2.
Who will win the Miami Masters 2025?
Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz are among the favorites for Miami 2025 based on their world ranking.
However, Zverev has not been in good form lately. He failed at the Indian Wells Masters right from the start. As was also the case at the tournament in Acapulco.
Alcaraz, on the other hand, did much better in Indian Wells. He made it to the semi-finals. Last year, he won the Miami Masters – after triumphing at the Indian Wells tournament.
Djokovic, Medvedev & Co.: The other title contenders
Behind the top duo Zverev and Alcaraz, the list of Miami 2025 favorites for the tournament victory is quite long.
Based on their current positions in the ATP world rankings, Taylor Fritz (USA/world no. 4), Caspar Ruud (NOR/ATP no. 6) and the Russian Daniil Medvedev (world no. 7) also have a good chance of winning the tournament.
Medvedev generally feels very comfortable on US hard courts, as his semi-final appearance in Indian Wells shows. And: he won the Miami Open in 2023!
Novak Djokovic is ranked 5th in the world.
The Serbian veteran has won a total of six times in Miami – the last time, however, was in 2016. Apart from that, the Djoker is not in top form at the moment. He lost his opening match in Indian Wells. He also lost early in the tournament in Doha.
With the Miami 2025 betting and tournament winner odds of the bookmakers with a German license, Djokovic is therefore not among the favorites at the front.
Those players who played strongly in Indian Wells – like the two finalists: winner Jack Draper, who is now ranked number 7 in the world, and the runner-up Holger Rune – could be in the running for Miami 2025 a little longer.
With Andrey Rublev (RUS/9th), Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE/10th) and Alex de Minaur (AUS/11th), there are three more favorites for the Miami Open based on their current world ranking.
In addition, apart from Fritz, the strong faction of Americans with Tommy Paul (ATP no. 11), Ben Shelton (12th) and Frances Tiafoe (17th) is always good for a run into the late stages of the tournament – especially in front of a home crowd.

The Masters tournament, in which 96 players are competing in the main draw, rewards everyone from the first round onwards. Each player receives 10 points and $23,760 for participating in the main draw. Reaching the second round brings $35,260 and 30 ATP world ranking points.
