Monaco – Lens betting tip, prediction & odds 01.09.2024

Ligue 1, Sunday, 01.09.2024 at 15:00

Two teams, one style of play! When Monaco and Lens meet on Sunday, it will be extremely interesting to see whether one of the two teams prevails or both remain unbeaten in the end.

I don’t have the easiest task in my Monaco Lens betting tip, because so far the clubs are absolutely on an equal footing. Of course, I still have a betting recommendation for you, and that is: We will not exceed 3.5 goals!

3.2 goals were scored on average when AS Monaco were on the pitch last season. It was not uncommon for things to work out up front, but for mistakes to be made at the back.

Now a new season has begun, one in which the Monegasques can no longer rely on their life insurance Wissam Ben Yedder. Is the loss having an impact on performances so early on?

I would like to put it this way: As far as the points haul is concerned, we can’t blame the team. Monaco started with a 1-0 win against newly promoted St. Etienne and followed it up with a 2-0 win against Lyon a little later.

Admittedly, the matches weren’t really spectacular, but in the end the points were all that mattered for AS. I should also mention the game against Lyon: This was one of their most fearful opponents away from home, which makes the 2-0 win all the more impressive

I take a quick look back a year ago and realize that there were 15 goals in the first five games! At the same time, the team started with six wins from the first seven home games.

A repeat of this would of course be desirable, and the 1-0 win against St. Etienne is a good start. Perhaps even a little more? In 2023/24, there were two three-goal wins without conceding in the opener

If you want to place exactly this bet, it’s worth taking a look at the Oddset app, where the odds are 3.60. As if the odds weren’t already high enough, you can also play the Oddset free bet here.

A win to nil against Lens, does the history support this in principle? In any case, the fact is that it can be quite turbulent between the two teams, 14 of the last 17 games have exceeded 2.5 goals

3:0, 1:4, 0:2, 0:3? The most recent games that Monaco have played against Lens at their own stadium have not exactly been that successful. The direct comparison doesn’t seem to be that important for our betting providers.

The home side are also favorites at Winamax, with the odds averaging 1.80 to 3.90. For the visitors, this means the underdog role, but of course everything is still possible for them

Mainly because Lens have started the new season in exactly the same way. First they won 1:0 against Angers, then 2:0 against Brest. Two games, six points, 3-0 goals – that’s what we know from the Principality!

Interesting to note: All three goals were scored before the break. Would it be worth betting that RC won’t score in the second half? I’ve taken a look at Betano and can see that: Odds of 1.93 would be due for this tip.

Of course, I also have to mention that the Yellow and Reds have to cope with the double burden this week. The second leg of the Conference League play-offs against Panathinaikos Athens was scheduled for Thursday evening

After the 2:1 from the first leg at home, as we are used to, the team again only scored in the first half, the second game ended with a 0:2. The European Cup season is thus over for Lens before it has really begun.

Under new coach Will Still, who is only 31 years old, Lens are determined to return to international business this season. Thankfully, there will be no start like 2023/24, as there were four defeats and a draw at the start of last year’s campaign

We’ve seen results from AS Monaco that are anything but boring. A lot of goals, but also goals conceded – that was the principle of the Monegasques last season.

Now, however, they are much more defensive, which is exactly what I can see at RC Lens. The two clubs are on an equal footing at the moment, which of course makes it all the more difficult to make a prediction.

Since neither side has conceded a league goal so far and the visitors could be a little tired from the Conference League play-offs, I’m going for the following tip:

The 3.5 goals will not be exceeded!
