Are we expecting a duel at the top sooner or later? If you take a look at the Serie A championship betting odds, you won’t be able to avoid two names: Inter Milan and Napoli!
The sky blues score a lot fewer goals, but are known for their stability. A home game against a team that has hardly lost in almost nine years?
That should work! In my Naples-Udinese tip, I’ll tell you why I’m betting on a home win with at least two goals.
Let’s assume that Inter Milan wins the postponed game against Florence – then we would have two teams tied for first place! Napoli is right in the thick of the title race, already with a cushion of seven points over third place.
I’ll quickly compare the offensive sides: Inter have scored 56 goals, Napoli 38! No question about it, it’s not quite as spectacular here. Combined with the 16 goals conceded, that works out at an average of 2.3 goals per game.
But let’s take a closer look at the sky blues. Last weekend, their series of seven wins came to an end, and they had to settle for a 1-1 draw against AS Roma.
Did the draw have to be? Certainly not, because Naples conceded the equalizer in injury time! The defensive errors are fairly distributed, however, with eight goals conceded in the first and second half so far.
In the last three games, Napoli have conceded goals – never before has Napoli failed to keep a clean sheet in four consecutive games this season. So it’s clear: let’s see what the “No Udinese goals” bet will yield at the weekend!
At Winamax, the odds are climbing to 1.82, so a clean sheet for the favorites would not be a surprise. Speaking of Winamax, as a new customer you can benefit from an exclusive bonus and get up to 100 euros.
Incidentally, the fans don’t often see exciting football festivals at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The 3-0 win over Bologna in the first home game of the season was the clearest result, and to date no more than two goals have been scored.
Is the “Under 2.5 goals Napoli” bet worth it for the weekend? With a tight 1.40, it’s actually not, apparently word has spread that the Italians don’t exactly shoot down their opponents.
Two 2-0 wins, two 2-1 wins, three 1-0 wins and one 3-1 win – they don’t exactly set the world alight. Naples have only conceded seven goals at home, which is the best record in the league. And they have only conceded two goals in the second half.
17 goals? They are no longer even in the single digits in the offensive statistics! It is also definitely interesting to note that they have only managed to go into the half-time lead in three of 11 home games.
Three times we have trailed at half-time at home, and Napoli have done so a total of four times. The only away game considered here? The one against Udinese Calcio! In mid-December, the sky blues only turned up after the break and still won 3-1.
Since April 2011, just two games have been lost against this opponent, so the last home defeat was almost 14 years ago. It gets even better: Napoli are currently on an 11-game winning streak at home – with the last seven of those always conceding a goal.
If we look at our best Apple Pay bookmakers, odds of 1.43 to 7.50 are due, so Napoli are clearly favored. Udinese Calcio have only won three of their last 14 games, so they are the underdogs, quite rightly so.
0-0 against Hellas Verona and Atalanta Bergamo, then 1-4 against Como and 2-1 against Roma followed by a 3-2 against Venezia? You can’t understand this difference in results!
Eight goals conceded in the last three games don’t exactly read promisingly, with six of them conceded after the break. Since the end of October, Udinese have also lost four times after taking the lead at half-time.
It is also worth mentioning that the guests have only kept a clean sheet in away games when playing 0-0 against Hellas Verona. Napoli only fail to score at home when they lose – and Lazio and Atalanta are in a completely different league to Udinese!
Can SSC Napoli consolidate their lead at the top of the table? The late equalizer against Roma was of course very annoying, and their long winning streak has been broken. But with Udinese Calcio, one of their favorite opponents is coming to visit.
A look at the history has shown that nothing can really go wrong here. Moreover, the guests are not exactly known for keeping a clean sheet away from home, quite unlike the league leaders.
I have therefore decided to bet on a victory for the favorites. Since Udinese offers a lot defensively, I’ll add the following extra:
Napoli wins with Over 1.5 goals!
