Ligue 1, Sunday, 01/26/2025 at 08:45 PM
Paris St. Germain seems unbeatable – but what is happening behind them? Olympique Marseille is currently “the best of the rest” in France, and the sky blues would probably be quite satisfied with a second place at the end of the season.
On Sunday, they travel to a really unpleasant team that always scores a lot of goals. Or as you could also put it: both have to score here! In my Nice Marseille betting tip, I collect all the facts for you that underpin exactly this bet.
The term “the best of the rest” is a tricky one… Many clubs don’t like to hear it, but if you’re in the French Ligue 1, you know that there’s usually no stopping PSG.
The Parisians will be competing without Kylian Mbappe for the first time in 2024/25, but they are coping surprisingly well with his departure. Olympique Marseille has been playing really well for months, but the team can’t get any closer to the top.
The club is satisfied with five wins and two draws, and they are already five points clear in third place. And yet: every now and then it becomes clear why they just can’t get to the top.
Recently, for example, they only managed a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg, and the only goal was only scored because Mason Greenwood’s penalty was on target. He is one of the big stars in the team, has already scored twelve goals and provided another four assists.
The new customer bonus from Winamax is also a real hit. Click on the graphic, register and get up to €100 for your bets.
No wonder I am recommending a goal bet at this point. With odds of 2.70, Winamax will reward your courage if you bet on a Greenwood goal. On top of that, you can look forward to the Winamax betting bonus here.
Perhaps even more away games should be scheduled for Marseille. The sky-blue team has been doing extremely well away from home for months, with even Paris not collecting as many points here.
Eight wins and one defeat, 25 goals scored, eight conceded: what brilliant statistics! With the exception of the 1-0 defeat to Strasbourg, they have always scored at least twice, which of course brings another bet to mind.
I’ll stick with Winamax and realize: If the 1.5 goal mark is exceeded again on Sunday, this bookmaker will offer odds of 2.00. In the first half of the season, they won 2-0 against Nice, so this tip would have been perfect.
Marseille have only won one of their last five meetings in Nice, so the visitors have been warned. Sure, it’s not bad to arrive as favorites with odds of 2.35 to 2.95, but that alone won’t help.
Especially since Nice can now really achieve any result. The Aiglons started with only two wins from the first eight rounds, and they are still feeling the effects of this poor start today.
Just a few days ago, they lost 2-1 to Lille, their fourth defeat of the season. It is not at all surprising that three goals were scored here, because 2024/25 seems to be a season in which Nice is in the mood for a spectacle.
14 of 18 games have seen goals on both sides, with only twice the team failing to score. At home, you must not neglect this fact, Nice has not yet lost with five wins and three draws.
So the “double chance 1X” could well be advisable, the odds at Interwetten are 1.60. The last results from their own stadium suggest that it will be a good game this weekend too.
3:2, 2:1, 2:1, 2:2, 2:1, 1:1, 8:0, 1:1? Admittedly, the average is pushed up by the high-scoring victory against St. Etienne, but you can see all the more quickly that there should be no alternative to the “both teams scoring” bet – if everything goes according to plan.
14 different players have already scored. There is no one man in attack who can score all the goals on his own, rather you have to keep an eye on every Nice player.
The best away team in Ligue 1 travel to a club that has not yet lost at home – it doesn’t get much more exciting than that! When Marseille and Nice meet on Sunday, we have a real top game on our hands.
Anyone who follows the home side closely knows that they score a lot of goals, which is also due to their defensive uncertainties. On the other side, we have Marseille, who are brutally strong away from home.
So, all in all, I expect these two clubs to deliver a really close, hotly contested duel. And since I have identified some very similar strengths, I can only guess:
Marseille AND Nice score!
