A top team that scores with consistency and exudes aplomb? That’s what they would like to be, Tottenham Hotpur! Word has long since got around in the north of the capital that they are once again not among the favorites in the title fight.
Spurs will be looking to get Boxing Day off to a good start on Thursday, but their opponents seem to be in much better shape. In my Nottingham Tottenham tip, I’ll tell you why I’m thinking offensively here and say: The 2.5 goals will be cracked!
In London, the atmosphere is good – but only if you keep it up with Chelsea and Arsenal! The fans of Tottenham Hotspur look enviously at their neighbors, because things are once again very mixed for them.
Seven wins, two draws and eight defeats is not exactly the kind of record you like to have. The team has only managed to win twice in a row once, which doesn’t sound like consistency.
When Tottenham pick up three points, it’s always with a bang. Three goals twice, four goals four times and five goals once? The victories couldn’t be any clearer! Unfortunately, however, that doesn’t help much when defeats follow in quick succession.
It’s really hard to explain how different the results can be. 4:0 against Manchester City, 0:1 against Bournemouth, 3:4 against Chelsea, 5:0 against Southampton and 3:6 against Liverpool – a series couldn’t be crazier!

What I definitely have to mention: Although Spurs have dropped to a dismal mid-table finish, they actually boast the best offense in the entire league with 39 goals – no wonder with all the scoring feasts.
They have scored eleven times in the last three games alone, but unfortunately they have also conceded ten goals. Yes, the north Londoners often produce spectacular results, but a 0:1 is always possible.
Does it make a difference whether more goals are scored at home or away? 23:17 at home, 16:8 away? We get averages of 4.4 and 3.0, so it’s true that more happens on home soil.
5:0, 0:1, 4:0, 0:1? The last four away results alone show that it’s almost impossible to pigeonhole Spurs into just one category. Of course, it’s not exactly an advantage that they also have a few injured players.
Three defenders – Cristian Romero, Ben Davies and Micky van de Ven – are injured, and they will also have to do without their regular number one Guglielmo Vicario for a long time.
Tottenham and Nottingham meet again for the first time in a few years. With four wins and one defeat, their recent record doesn’t read too bad, especially when you consider that all of their victories have been by a two-goal margin.
Nottingham Forest need not worry though, as they go into the game in fourth place in the table! As they are playing at home, they are also slightly favored with odds of 2.40 to 2.80.
The Tricky Trees have only lost four times, winning the last three games in a row. This is the second time they have found themselves in such a streak, but they have never won four in a row this season.
The fact that the Red & Whites can play at home on Thursday is certainly an advantage. Four of the last home games ended in victory! What’s more, these four victories have included only one goal conceded
At the same time, the team has only failed to score once at home. With 19 goals conceded, the defense is among the best, with Nottingham conceding two or more only five times. However, this has happened four times in the last seven rounds.
Where will Tottenham Hotspur go from here? At the moment, it is hard to predict when and if the north Londoners will even manage to get into a consistent streak. Offensively, the team is top, but defensively they concede far too much.
Tottenham are usually spectacular, but every now and then almost nothing happens. I’ve noticed much more consistency from the home side from Nottingham, but Spurs aren’t one of my favorite opponents.
This is a game in which I think a lot can happen. Since the visitors in particular have had a lot of turbulent results in recent weeks, I have decided on the following betting tip:
The 2.5 goals will be scored!
