Who are the women’s 2024 Olympics soccer favorites?
Ahead of the tournament, three nations in particular are favorites to win the Olympic women’s soccer tournament and the gold medal that goes with it.
The USA are at the top of the Olympia 2024 women’s soccer betting odds from the bookmakers. In the first five editions of the Summer Olympics, the US girls won gold four times. Most recently, however, others won twice.
In Tokyo in 2021, for example, it was only enough for bronze, while Canada was able to celebrate in the end. Reason enough for the ambitious US federation to want to return to the throne in Paris. The last title in general was also five years ago with the 2019 World Cup victory.
According to the bookmakers’ Olympic predictions, Spain is the biggest rival. The Spanish women’s national soccer team won the last World Cup in 2023 and the quality of the Spanish women’s squad is still immense.
Host nation France is also bidding to win the Olympics at home. Above all, the advantage of playing in front of their own fans should have tipped the scales in favor of low Olympic champion odds.
Germany is already lurking behind the top favorites. The last major title came at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Can they now win a medal despite their supposedly poor form? The group alone will not be particularly easy
