Chivu, Cristian
– without club
+ Parma Calcio
The former Romanian international Cristian Chivu is the new coach of the Italian first division club Parma Calcio. The 44-year-old succeeds the coach Fabio Pecchia, who was dismissed on Monday, the day after the 1-0 home defeat to AS Roma and thus the fourth defeat in a row. In the calendar year 2025, Parma is still without a win. According to media reports, Chivu’s contract runs until the end of the season – with the option of an extension if relegation is avoided. The former defender ended his career in 2013 after 75 caps for his country, having played for Ajax, Roma and Inter. He has been without a coaching role since June 2024, having previously worked in Inter’s youth department.
