Peter Pekarik left Hertha BSC after twelve years in the summer – his destination was still unknown at the time. Now the 37-year-old is returning to his Slovakian home club MSK Zilina. Between 2009 and 2024, Pekarik made 243 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha BSC and VfL Wolfsburg. He won the league title with the latter in 2009.
