Conference League league phase, matchday 3, Thursday, 07.11.2024 at 18:45
A long journey is on the agenda for SK Rapid on the 3rd Conference League matchday. The Hütteldorfer are expected to play the local hero in the Moldovan capital on Thursday.
According to my Petrocub SK Rapid Vienna, this will not be an easy task. The Viennese should come out on top in the end. But expect a tough game and phases in which the hosts will set the tone.
In this first section, we take a look at Rapid’s form curve. Unfortunately, even the biggest Rapid fan has to agree with me: Coach Robert Klaus has gambled away.
Less than a week ago, Rapid were surprisingly knocked out of the ÖFB Cup after losing 2-1 to second division bottom side Stripfing in a real capital derby.
Apart from keeper Hedl and right winger Schaub, the entire team in this match consisted exclusively of reserves.
Even a “young Bua” like Wurmbrand was in the starting line-up. The regular starting eleven then came into action a few days later in the Bundesliga thriller against Sturm Graz, which they almost won.
If Sangare hadn’t been sent off in the first half for an assault, there would have been more in it than the 1:1.
But you don’t need to worry in the Conference League. The Rapid coach always puts his best selection on the pitch. His “A” team has already scored against Basaksehir (2:1) and Noah (1:0).
However, I don’t expect an away win bet to be worthwhile next Thursday.
The current Petrocub Rapid odds of the bookmakers with Apple Pay are only 1.23 on average, which leads me to believe that the bookmakers have too much confidence in a clear win for Rapid.
A higher handicap win for the visitors is not my first choice. Although Moldovan opponents Petrocub are underdogs, having failed to win against Paphos (1:4) and Jagiellonia (0:2), I still don’t expect the Viennese to dominate this game.
Instead, I expect a win from the category “A good horse only jumps as high as it has to”. I therefore think a 0:2 is the most likely final score.
Rapid have some players up their sleeve who can turn things around, and if they play at their best, they can also be successful in this game.
The form of Petrocub will also be decisive. They have had mixed performances in recent encounters and are still searching for the right balance in their line-up.
Despite their recent failures, we can’t discount the fact that Petrocub have the opportunity to prove themselves on the European stage.
Often the pressure on the players in such encounters is very different to that in the domestic league. For them, the UECL is like the premier league for others!
At this point, I have a very clever Petrocub SK Rapid tip for you, which would be a way out of the “betting dilemma”.
Because I have already rejected a handicap win for the Viennese and even the famous half-time/final score bet according to the 2/2 scheme makes me less confident at odds of 1.60.
You can expect at least one strong half from the Moldovans – preferably the first!
After all, they scored the first goal of the game against Paphos on matchday 1, while the score was still 0-0 at the break against Jagiellonia.
Consequently, I choose a special bet at Bet-at-home that Rapid will not win both halves of the match.
This offers flexibility and security, as players can secure profits or minimize losses before the final results are known. The ability to react to the changing course of the game is particularly advantageous.
If a team plays unexpectedly weak or suffers injuries, the cashout can help to end the bet prematurely. This function makes the betting experience more dynamic and also gives you more control over your stakes.
Fakt: Petrocub should storm forward with the mute of desperation.
Rapid, meanwhile, may lack a bit of freshness after the Bundesliga thriller against Sturm and a long game with a deficit.
Although the superiority of the Viennese team should be enough to bag a win, I don’t expect them to dominate the game from the first to the last minute.
My Petrocup SK Rapid betting tip is therefore: Rapid Vienna won’t win both halves of the match
