Rangers – Dynamo Kyiv betting tip, prediction & odds 13.08.2024

Champions League Quali, 3rd round, second leg, Tuesday, 13.08.2024 at 20:45

A 1:1 in the first leg, or as you could say: It’s all wide open! Our Champions League qualifying tips this week are all about who will make the play-offs and the contenders are certainly notable.

We travel to Scotland, where experience has shown that the atmosphere can make a big difference. In my Glasgow Rangers Dynamo Kiev betting tip, I’ll be weighing up the emotions and the quality of the game and telling you why I’m going for a second “both teams score”

The Ibrox Stadium should be on fire! Glasgow Rangers are desperate to reach the group stage of the Champions League, having last done so in the 2022/23 season. Back then, Napoli, Liverpool and Ajax Amsterdam were too strong.

It almost worked a year ago, but after a 2:2 draw in the first leg against PSV Eindhoven, they suffered a heavy 1:5 thrashing in the play-offs. Losing big after a draw? That can’t happen this time!

Glasgow almost lost the first match, as the 1-1 draw against Dynamo Kiev, played in Lublin, was more than fortunate. The equalizer was only scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time!

Although there is no longer a rule for away goals, this one goal could of course be worth its weight in gold in the end. After all, the Scots know that at home, our fans whip us forward rigorously

The Ibrox was already a big help last season. Eindhoven, Betis Sevilla, even teams that are more highly rated internationally, failed to win.

Rangers were ultimately eliminated in the last 16 of the Europa League, and a 1-0 home defeat to Benfica Lisbon (after a 2-2 first-leg draw) is certainly no disgrace.

The club was probably much more annoyed that the championship went to local rivals Celtic. 2024/25 should be a more successful year again, both nationally and in Europe.

John Lundstram and Borna Barisic have left the club for Trabzon, and Sam Lammers is also no longer there. Rangers have been doing a bit of shopping anyway to sign strong new signings

Mohamed Diomande came from Nordsjaelland for five million euros, Robin Pröpper from Enschede. A few more names have been added to the squad, meaning Glasgow will start the new season with a relatively broad-based squad.

Incidentally, this will be the third time they have faced Dynamo Kiev, as the two teams faced each other in the European Champions Cup back in 1987, with both teams recording a home win to nil.

How do the bookmakers rate the chances of both teams, who do they see ahead? 1.95 to 3.70 at Merkur Sports and Co., with the Scots having the better chances of winning on Tuesday

Of course, the players from Ukraine also know that they will have to push themselves to their limits if they want to survive in front of the Scottish crowd. The last time they went to the top flight was three and four years ago.

This season, the work began in the second round against Partizan Belgrade. The 6:2 win in the first leg was more than impressive, and the team followed it up with a 3:0 win.

Nine goals from two games, that was really something to be proud of! Glasgow Rangers are of course a much tougher opponent, so I was all the less surprised that there was only one goal in duel number one

By the way: The nine goals against Partizan came from eight different players, so the responsibility in the offensive area is fairly distributed. Someone will have to go all out in Glasgow on Tuesday to open the door to the play-offs.

League action recently resumed in Ukraine for Dynamo with a match against Veres Rivne. They won 2:1, with Mykola Shaparenko scoring and adding an assist.

Since no regular players have left the club and players such as Oleksandr Pikhalyonok and Valentyn Rubchynskyi have been brought in to strengthen the team,

Dynamo Kyiv or Glasgow Rangers, who will prevail and advance to the playoffs? The first leg provided little insight, but the Scots of course equalized very late and happily.

The fact that the Rangers are playing at home in front of their own fans could of course be crucial for the second match. Defensively, they will have to be on their guard, especially in view of the visitors’ offensive variability.

Ultimately, I can only imagine that both teams won’t give each other much and that nobody will get through without a defensive slip-up. That’s why my tip is:

Glasgow and Kiev score!
