In addition to Weimann, Rapid also brought back his former youth player Yusuf Demir on Thursday. Demir received a contract until 2027 plus an option for another year. The 22-year-old attacker joined the Green and Whites as a ten-year-old and became the youngest Rapid player since the Bundesliga was founded on 14 December 2019 at the age of 16 years, 6 months and 12 days. Later he also played for FC Barcelona, Galatasaray, FC Basel and most recently again for the club from Istanbul.
