La Liga, Matchday 36 on Wednesday, 14.05.2025 at 21:30
The championship battle is practically over. After losing 3-4 in El Clásico, Real are now seven points behind Barcelona with only three games left to play. This is a bitter setback for the Blancos, who will now go without a title in 2025.
In my Real Madrid Mallorca prediction, I don’t necessarily think the visitors will get anything against the struggling hosts, but I do think they’ll score a goal, so that’s what my Oddset bet is.
Real fans have had to endure a few setbacks in recent months, with the Champions League exit against Arsenal and the narrow defeat in the cup final against their arch-rivals, which dashed their hopes of winning the league.
Despite the signing of star player Kylian Mbappé, they failed to win a single trophy this season. Long-time successful coach Carlo Ancelotti is leaving the club, but a high-caliber replacement has been found. Bundesliga-winning coach Xabi Alonso is taking over.
The Spaniard, who once played for the Royals for several years and won everything there was to win during that time, is expected to be on the sidelines for the Club World Cup. Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti will still be in the hot seat against Mallorca.
His team is clearly ahead with odds of 1.33 at our Apple Pay betting providers. A win rate that doesn’t appeal to me at all. In sporting terms, the season is practically over. Keeping Atletico at bay is likely to be the last sporting incentive.
We get 8.75 for a win for the visitors, while 5.50 is also high for a draw. I’m not thrilled by the individual selections, but I’m most tempted by the “Double Chance X2,” which is around 3.40.
However, I would only bet with free bet credit at most. For example, you can get up to $100 in free bets as a new customer at Winamax. All bets there are also tax-free, so you get five percent more profit.
With the loyalty points you collect, you can also secure additional free bets and extra credit.
You also benefit from the advantage of being able to see how many users have chosen which selection for each market. And in Real vs. Mallorca, it’s clear that a home win is not as likely as the odds would suggest.
81 percent have opted for a 1X2 win for the capital club, and I’ve seen much higher figures this season. I find the individual options too risky, but I definitely see value in a goal for Mallorca.
At 1.75, that’s quite high given their huge underdog status.
Admittedly, the statistics are not encouraging. No team has scored fewer away goals than Mallorca, with 14 in 17 games. Remarkably, however, they are still in the top half of the table in this ranking, in ninth place. Thanks to their strong defense, a few narrow victories were possible.
Last weekend, they secured a 2-1 win against already relegated Real Valladolid. RCD are currently level on points with Rayo Vallecano, the team in the Conference League spot, and are only two points behind Celta Vigo in the Europa League spot.
With a good finish, anything is still possible. Especially since the direct duel against Vallecano is still to come.
The Mallorcans’ DNA is compact play and transition football. With 40 goals conceded, the club has let in just three fewer than Real Madrid, but with 102 chances, it has the fourth-fewest shots on goal in the league. Madrid has exactly twice as many.
The odds for both teams to score are 1.90, and I don’t think the jump from 1.75 for a single goal by the visitors is big enough. After the fourth blow against Barca this season, I’d rather stick with a single goal for Mallorca.
Real have conceded nine goals in their last three matches alone. Granted, two of those games were against the Catalans, but the Royals also conceded two goals against Celta Vigo (3-2) between those games.
And in their last clean sheet, a 1-0 win against Getafe, Real got off very lightly considering the many top-class players in the opposition. The Blancos are also looking very modest in terms of defensive personnel.
Eder Militao, Antoniono Rüdiger, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Daniel Carvajal, and Eduardo Camavinga are currently unavailable.
In the first leg, Mallorca fought hard to earn a point against Real. Top scorer Vedat Muriqi scored the equalizer after the break to make it 1-1.
In addition, the Mallorcans have scored in two of their last three games at the Santiago Bernabeu.
On neutral ground in the Super Cup in January, however, the Royals won 3-0. In the end, though, Hansi Flick’s boys took the title.
Conclusion: Mallorca dreams of Europe, with RCD last featuring in international competition in 2003/04. To get back there, Jagoba Arrasate’s team is hoping for a coup at the Santiago Bernabeu.
I wouldn’t rule that out after Real’s latest Classico setback, especially as the hosts are struggling with a difficult situation in defense: nine goals conceded in their last three games and many players out!
That’s why I think Mallorca, with their European Cup goal in sight, are at least capable of scoring!
My Real Madrid Mallorca prediction: Mallorca will score!
