Second leg time in the Europa League! In my Real Sociedad Midtjylland betting tip, I have a very interesting bet for you.
I definitely expect the guests, who lost their home game 1-2 a week ago, to score in San Sebastian as well.
At home, the FC did not play a bad game, being the better team for the full 90 minutes.
Therefore – and given the not-so-impressive performances of the favorite recently – I expect at least one goal from Midtjylland. Oddset has the right bet.
How do the betting providers see the duel? Quite one-sided! Sociedad start the home game as clear favorites with odds of 1.50 at our top betting providers. The Spanish team only need a draw to advance when they meet the Danish champions again.
Of course, the hosts don’t want to let it be a close game and play to win. But will they really succeed? We are offered odds of 4.33 for a draw. An away win is even higher at 6.25.
Among the double chances, I still find the X2 option at 2.50 the hottest, but I see a significantly higher probability of a Midtjylland goal.
After all, Real have only kept a clean sheet in two of their last ten games and recently conceded three goals at the weekend, went down 3-0 at Betis Sevilla, but also had to play with ten men from the 20th minute and even with nine from the 75th minute.
But the record shows that the clean sheet has often been missing recently. In the first leg, San Sebastian only managed 40 percent possession and had fewer shots on goal than the reigning Danish champions.
In turn, the latter have scored in nine of their last ten games. Only against Porto was it not meant to be.
In the end, Midtjylland qualified for the intermediate round as the 20th team. Sociedad had won their last league game, but missed out on a direct place in the last 16 by one point and due to a marginally worse goal difference.
Internationally, things looked quite good at home with three wins for Sociedad, but in the Spanish top flight, they only have 15th place in the home table, with the ball going in their own net 13 times, which means they have conceded three more goals than away.
A statistic that doesn’t really make me confident that Mikel Oyarzabal’s team will get off unscathed.
We must not forget the aspect that Midtjylland is the team that is challenged and has nothing to lose, and will have to take a big risk in the second half at the latest to avoid being eliminated from the Europa League.
And with the exception of Gue-sung Cho, the Scandinavians have their entire offensive personnel available. It doesn’t look too bad for Real in this respect either. Only Hamari Traore is currently out due to injury.
For those who like it a little higher, the Bet365 app could be used to bet on both teams scoring for odds just below the 2.00 mark. Personally, I don’t think the odds jump is high enough and so I’m sticking with the option that I only need one goal from one team.
Furthermore, Real Sociedad has lost three of the last ten games without scoring a goal. Therefore, I do not want to completely rule out the mega coup for Midtjylland.
My tip: Midtjylland should score at least one goal. San Sebastian have rarely been able to keep their clean sheet in recent weeks and have not made the most stable impression this season anyway, only managing eleventh place.
In addition, the FC has been able to score reliably in its most recent appearances and can rely on its entire offensive personnel except for one player.
