Danny Röhl has moved into pole position as the potential new head coach of Glasgow Rangers following Steven Gerrard’s rejection. The Liverpool legend was supposed to succeed the hapless Russell Martin, who had to pack his bags early after a poor start to the 2025/26 season. However, Gerrard turned down the job after negotiations in London, as reported by numerous British media outlets. This leaves the door wide open for former Flick assistant Röhl. The 36-year-old Röhl most recently coached English second division club Sheffield Wednesday.
