Uwe Koschinat will remain coach of Rot-Weiss Essen beyond the summer. The third-division club announced this at its general meeting on Tuesday evening, almost a year after the 54-year-old first signed in December last year. Koschinat had taken over the Esseners in the relegation battle and led them out of the basement. In the meantime, RWE finds itself in the promotion race and is in fourth place after 17 matchdays, five points behind leaders Cottbus.
