On Thursday, Stade Rennes parted ways with Julien Stephan, who had been in the job for just under a year. Sebastien Tambouret has taken over the job on an interim basis, and under him the current 13th in Ligue 1 lost 2-0 to Toulouse on Sunday – with Jorge Sampaoli in the stands for this home defeat. The Argentine has now been officially presented as the new Rennes coach. The former Sevilla and Olympique Marseille coach and former national team manager of Argentina and Chile has signed a contract until 2026.
