Seattle – PSG Tip Club World Cup, Group B on Monday, 23.06.2025 at 21:00
Just a few days ago, PSG seemed to be bursting with energy, but then, to everyone’s surprise, the French side had their wings clipped by Botafogo on matchday 2 of the Club World Cup.
The 0-1 defeat in the clash between the two continental champions means that the European champions now even have to worry a little about qualifying for the round of 16.
However, the Seattle Sounders PSG odds offered by the bookmakers are ideal for quickly dispelling any panic that may arise in Paris…
According to the bookmakers’ Seattle PSG predictions, this match is likely to be one of the clearest outcomes on the last matchday of the group stage.
And in my opinion, there is a lot to suggest that the French champions’ rather unfortunate defeat against Botafogo will prove to be nothing more than a minor hiccup with no real consequences.
After all, the local heroes from Seattle had little more to offer in the first two rounds of the newly created mega tournament than a consolation goal in each game.
However, I’m assuming that things will remain the same here, and I believe the Sounders are capable of another offensive success against PSG!
Seattle – PSG prediction & bets
Even though there have been no shortage of nasty surprises for European participants in the Club World Cup so far, PSG’s final group game seems to be a safe bet.
While Inter Miami emerged as a surprise candidate for the round of 16, the Seattle Sounders are once again proving that most MLS teams are not yet ready for the big time.
At odds of 2.10, I have therefore decided on another Seattle PSG tip for my bet, namely that the French triple champions will win both halves to conclude the preliminary round.
My tip 3, which is aimed at at least 3 PSG goals at odds of 1.70, also takes advantage of the expected quality difference between the two teams.
What you need to bear in mind when betting on Seattle vs. PSG
- The Seattle Sounders have now lost their last three competitive games. The last time they lost four competitive games in a row was in June 2019.
- The last time a Champions League winner (PSG) lost to a South American team was in 2012, when Corinthians surprisingly defeated Chelsea in the Club World Cup final. The 1-0 defeat to Botafogo also saw PSG fail to score for the first time since March 5, 2025 (0-1 home defeat to Liverpool).
- Only one team has lower odds than PSG (1.14) to win on matchday three. The odds of 1.005 for Boca Juniors against Auckland City underscore the difference in quality between the semi-professional team and its opponent.
- PSG is participating in the Club World Cup for the first time. The Seattle Sounders have only played three games against intercontinental opponents so far, losing all of them with a total score of 2-6.
- Vitinha currently leads the rankings with the most accurate passes per 90 minutes (123). His xAG of 0.49 against Botafogo was the only bright spot in PSG’s defeat and earned him the highest rating in the team.
Seattle Sounders – PSG: odds analysis
The odds for the Seattle PSG tip have hardly changed since the first matchday and continue to favor Paris. The French top club was rated with a rather symbolic odds of well below 1.20 from the start.
The odds imply a probability of winning of 88.5%, which is largely in line with our model’s prediction (81.9%). In keeping with their role as clear favorites, the bookmakers have given the newly crowned Champions League winners an Asian handicap of -2.25.
Our artificial intelligence, on the other hand, has opted for the classic handicap of -2 in its Seattle PSG AI tip, which is rated as comparatively safe. For this, German bookmakers are offering 2.15 times the stake for a favorite win with at least a two-goal advantage.
After two defeats in this competition, the odds for Seattle have actually fallen slightly. Given the competition, the performance in both games was decent, but the bookmakers still only give the team a 6.7% chance of winning.
However, our AI also believes that the local heroes are capable of scoring a consolation goal, as I had predicted. So if both teams score on Monday evening, the best bookmakers will pay out odds of around 2.25.
Considering that Seattle has scored in both of its Club World Cup matches so far, I think this is really good odds – although this only applies to the third AI tip with a slight discount.
In my opinion, the odds of just over 2.00 for over 3.5 goals are slightly less valuable, but should still be popular with PSG fans in particular.
The best odds for Seattle vs. PSG
While all matches from the round of 16 onwards are expected to be highly exciting, this final in Group B is once again shaping up to be a rather dull affair.
Given the extremely low odds for Seattle PSG, one can only hope that at least a respectable performance from the French side will make up for the lack of excitement.
However, if, contrary to expectations, the match between the two teams turns out to be exciting, it could turn out to be a rather expensive evening for the bookmakers.
After all, a draw is already priced at a high 8.00 – a figure that will be doubled in the event of an upset victory!
Seattle vs. PSG match analysis:
Perhaps somewhat unexpectedly for many, the reigning Champions League winners have a lot at stake on matchday three.
On Friday, PSG became the first European champions since Chelsea in 2012 to be knocked off their perch by a South American opponent. Despite their apparent superiority in Pasadena against Botafogo, PSG were unable to break the spell without their injured star Ousmane Dembélé.
Botafogo’s steadfast defense and a lucky goal from Igor Jesus leave PSG with no room for error on their trip to Seattle.
The path is clear for the French side. A win would guarantee them a place in the knockout stages and make all other results irrelevant. However, a draw would leave PSG dependent on the result of the match between Atlético Madrid and Botafogo, while a defeat would mean the end of the road.
Despite two defeats in the tournament, Seattle Sounders have proven their competitiveness. Driven on by their fans, they have shown that they are capable of challenging elite teams and will now do everything in their power to thwart PSG’s plans.
Albert Rusnak’s latest goal underlines the team’s attacking potential. The match will be decided by the midfield battle.
For PSG, composure and clinical finishing will be crucial. Seattle are known for exploiting turnovers and quick counterattacks, which could pose a major threat. A win for the Sounders would be historic, secure their place in the next round and set up a thrilling finale on the final matchday.
Seattle Sounders form check
The Seattle Sounders lost 3-1 to Atlético Madrid at Lumen Field on Thursday afternoon. This means that the MLS club is virtually out of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Sounders now need to pull off a major upset against Paris Saint-Germain to keep their hopes alive. This means they need a performance that only eight teams have achieved this year, including five from the Champions League.
In a way, it would be more than a miracle, especially considering that bookmakers put the MLS team’s chances of winning at just 6.7%.
Despite their valiant efforts and attacking play, the Sounders had only 64 touches in the opposition’s penalty area in two games. That’s only five fewer than PSG. The decisive factors in the defeats against Botafogo and Atlético Madrid were a lack of clinical finishing and avoidable defensive errors.
The Sounders are currently in a slump. They have not won any of their last four competitive games, conceding eleven goals in the process.
Between March and April of this year, they went five games without a win in MLS (two draws, three defeats), conceding nine goals in the process.
Given these circumstances, the most realistic goal for the Sounders in this difficult match is probably to score at least one goal against European champions PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain form check
No Champions League winner has been knocked out by a South American team since 2012. Corinthians shocked Chelsea that year.
PSG’s defeat to Botafogo was their first goalless game since losing to Liverpool in the Champions League in March. It was their eighth defeat of the season.
Next up for the French side are Seattle Sounders, who are second from bottom in the CONCACAF rankings. While the bookmakers are predicting a comfortable win for PSG, Luis Enrique’s team will first have to rediscover their clinical finishing in front of goal.
Paris impressed with a 4-0 win over Atlético Madrid, but the team faltered against Botafogo.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s early goal was one of the few bright spots in a disjointed first half. PSG dominated the game but struggled to convert their chances.
According to the bookmakers, only Boca Juniors are stronger favorites on matchday three, which should reassure concerned PSG fans.
My tip: PSG win & both teams score
