Don’t let the two competitors from Madrid pull away! FC Barcelona has fallen behind in the La Liga betting odds and is only now slowly emerging from a curious crisis.
A win on Sunday is mandatory, but their opponent is a bit of a mystery to me. I would like to solve this mystery together with you in my Sevilla Barcelona betting tip and also tell you why I am thinking rather defensively here and am betting on “Under 3.5 goals”!
Breathe easy in Barcelona: you can still win twice in a row! The wild 7-1 win against Valencia was followed a few days ago by the contrasting program of the 1-0 win against Alaves, but the Catalans should have been happy that in the end they only had to score three times.
Within eight rounds, Barca had only been able to win once, interspersed with a number of inexplicable slip-ups against Las Palmas, Leganes and Getafe. The 1-0 win against Alaves was also special because they didn’t concede a single goal.
Since the Clasico in October (4-0 against Real), they have always conceded in their own box, but now they have finally managed to keep a clean sheet again. There were 14 goals against in this period, ten of them after half-time.
Barcelona often collapsed after a good start, against Atletico they squandered a 1-0 lead and even lost in the end. With a four-point gap to make up, it is now important to really put the crisis behind them.

The victories against Valencia and Alaves were at home, but now it’s an away game again. Three of the last four games away from home ended in a draw, with only one of the last five won.
32 goals mean, of course, by far the best attack, with FCB scoring 2.6 times away from home on average. However, since four of the last five league games, regardless of where they were played, have only seen a maximum of one own goal, I still don’t necessarily see a spectacle coming our way.
The fans, of course, want to see a game reminiscent of the first leg, because Sevilla didn’t stand a chance in the 5-1 defeat in the fall. It was the Catalans’ sixth win in a row, and only over 100 years ago was the streak even longer!
Since October 2015, Barcelona have not lost a league game against Sevilla, the only two defeats during this period came in the Copa del Rey. 2-1, 3-0, 1-1, 2-0, 0-2, 0-0? Scorers have not been seen on Andalusian soil recently.
Given these numbers, it doesn’t surprise me at all that the average odds from our bookmakers come out at 1.55 to 5.50, and that is of course from the point of view of the guests.
Sevilla FC are currently unbeaten in four matches, which is longer than any other period of games this season. True, there were only draws in three of those matches, but the Andalusians know that every point counts.
1-1 against Valencia, 1-1 against Espanyol Barcelona, 0-0 against Getafe? These results against relegation candidates are, of course, insufficient! They have already conceded three heavy goals in 2024/25 (1-5 against Barca, 3-4 against Atletico and 2-4 against Real).
13 goals have been scored against them in these three encounters alone, although Sevilla have also kept a clean sheet seven times on the other side. Basically, it is definitely an advantage to be able to play at home.
The three defeats I just mentioned all happened away from home, and ten goals conceded at home is really not a bad record. 1-1, 1-1, 1-0, 1-1, 1-0? What “exciting” final results from their own stadium!
There have only been two occasions on which three goals have been scored here, and that is the maximum so far. I can therefore also state that Sevilla have never conceded more than two goals. What’s interesting about this is that at Interwetten, the “Under 2.5 goals Barca” bet is just about profitable at 1.53.
Sevilla have not lost a home game since the beginning of November, and have only conceded three goals in five games. The best away attack in the league will have a tough time against this team!
Has FC Barcelona finally overcome their crisis? After weeks of not performing well, I have of course become cautious about jumping to conclusions, after all, the last two games were won at home.
It’s a good thing that Sevilla, one of their favorite opponents, is now waiting. However, they definitely have a few strengths at home, one of which is defensive. More than two goals conceded? That doesn’t happen at home.
I have also seen that the Andalusians’ home games are stingy with goals, there have never been more than three. So I have taken this fact on board and now say:
A maximum of three goals on Sunday!
