Who will win the women’s slalom in Levi?
Who are the favorites for the two women’s slaloms at the Levi World Cup 2024?
Given her results from last season, Mikaela Shiffrin is the big favorite for the Levi Slalom 2024.
The 29-year-old American dominated the slalom scene last winter. Seven of the eleven races last season went to Shiffrin. In the end, this also earned her first place in the Slalom World Cup by a wide margin.
Shiffrin is also one of the favorites for the 2024 Levi World Cup, having already won seven times in Lapland. Last year, she won one of the two Levi slaloms. And since everyone who wins here gets a reindeer as a trophy, Shiffrin already has her own little herd here…
Who else can win the slalom at the Levi World Cup 2024 besides Shiffrin?
Three of the four slaloms last winter that Shiffrin didn’t win went to Petra Vlhova – including the first in Levi. Seen in this light, she would be the logical co-favorite. However, the question is whether the Slovak will even start after her knee injury.
So there are likely to be some other contenders for victory and a place on the podium in this year’s Levi slalom.
Croatian Zrinka Ljutic, for example, was a revelation in the pre-season with three second places. Sweden’s Anna Swenn-Larsson was the only winner of a slalom race not named Shiffrin or Vlhova.
Last season, Lena Dürr came in second in the Slalom World Cup. The German, who came in second three times and achieved one third place, can therefore be counted among the favorites for the Levi victory.
With Wendy Holdener and Michelle Gisin, the Swiss team also has two skiers who could be considered for a podium finish.
Ski legend Marcel Hirscher returns to the @FISAlpine Ski World Cup at the Levi Black, Finland, embracing a new perspective on skiing: “Now I appreciate the relationships, the health—things that count beyond the races.” For more ☻ https://t.co/tFmPCV402C pic.twitter.com/SHTl3szSYS

The favorites for the slalom at Levi 2024
Who will win the men’s slalom at Levi?
The best slalom skier of the past season was Austria’s Manuel Feller. With a total of four victories this season, he won the small crystal globe for victory in the slalom.
In this respect, Feller is also at the top of the list of Levi 2024 favorites. Although the last men’s slalom in the Finnish town of Levi took place five years ago.
The last winner of the Levi competition is Henrik Kristoffersen. The Norwegian won in 2019. In the two years before that – 2018 and 2017 – Kristoffersen came in second. In the Levi slalom forecast and betting odds of the betting providers in Germany, Kristoffersen is therefore one of the favorites to win.
Taking the previous season as a reference, the list of favorites for Levi is quite extensive.
In addition to Feller, who won four of the ten season slaloms, there were five more winners this season: Germany’s slalom star Linus Strasser (2), Timon Haugan, Daniel Yule, Loic Meillard and Marco Schwarz (1 each). Straßer, who also achieved two second and one third place, was second in the slalom World Cup ranking, ahead of Haugan. With the French veteran Clement Noel (2x second, 2x third in the previous season), there is another podium contender for the first men’s slalom this winter.
And then there is a certain Marcel Hirscher, who made his World Cup comeback in Sölden after a five-year break and will also start in the Levi slalom in 2024. Is he a contender for the win or the podium?
In Sölden, Hirscher reached the second round and it is safe to assume that he will manage to do so again this time. He is also very familiar with the flat slope in Levi – he has won here twice: in 2016 and 2018.
